The next Nintendo Direct went official this morning. After months of rumors of an official, proper Direct showcase, it is finally on the slate. Nintendo has been cranking these things out faster and more frequent than ever since Switch 2 hit store shelves, but they have largely come in the form of dedicated showcases for specific titles and those Direct side quests: IndieWorld and Partner Showcase. This week though, we get the real deal.

While we all eagerly await the rumored announcement of the September Nintendo Direct, we are also coming to realize this will be the first month without a single first-party Switch 2 release. This year’s IFA event in Berlin has already given us many new tech reveals, with a bunch of robotic lawn mowers showcased amongst them, but there’s one that is standing out amongst the crowd with its very unique concept design. September has been quite the month of surprises for LEGO fans, as the first days have brought us several new building sets that folks have been giddy to get ahold of, followed by the confirmation of the previously leaked SEGA Genesis Controller set. The biggest thing in gaming releases soon, very soon. And it’s an indie game. The long-awaited Hollow Knight: Silksong is finally here, or will be in well under 24 hours now, as developer Team Cherry has confirmed the release times for the game alongside the shocking $20 price of entry.

Microsoft has just unleashed three brand-new special edition controllers – Heart Breaker, Ice Breaker, and Storm Breaker. The world’s most famous secret agent is set to make a triumphant return in AAA console game form soon, and Sony is set to deliver a lengthy gameplay blowout for the new 007 First Light this afternoon. We have already seen some relatively brief glimpses of gameplay as well as the reveal trailer, but nothing quite like we are in for today.

The previously leaked LEGO SEGA Genesis Controller is official. The brick built gamepad made headlines just over a week ago when low res images were leaked online, but the set has now officially been revealed.

After many years of waiting, we are now only 5 days away from the release of the most highly-anticipated indie game (maybe ever) – Hollow Knight: Silksong. We finally know when the game will launch and even got a new trailer recently with a decent look at the game, but we still don’t know the price of it – unless a recent GameStop listing that surfaced is be to believed.
