The biggest thing in gaming releases soon, very soon. And it’s an indie game. The long-awaited Hollow Knight: Silksong is finally here, or will be in well under 24 hours now, as developer Team Cherry has confirmed the release times for the game alongside the shocking $20 price of entry.
Hollow Knight: Silksong release tomorrow – it’s actually happening. After a special presentation went live late last month, Team Cherry, after nearly a decade of waiting, finally confirmed its insect crawling action-adventure will hit virtual store shelves on September 4.
Shortly thereafter, it officially announced on its official site the game will be available for purchase on Steam, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox, Sony PlayStation 4, Sony PlayStation 5, GoG and Humble Bundle.”
And then it updated its now ancient Kickstarter campaign to inform backers their download codes from the game will be made available shortly before release – you just have to make sure you go fill out the survey before day’s end (do it now if you haven’t yet) to receive your code – “if you do miss the cut-off, don’t worry! You can still receive your Silksong keys, but you’ll have to contact us directly through backers@teamcherry.com.au.”
Steam keys will arrive via Humble Bundle like the first game and will come along with the Official Soundtrack for all players, while Nintendo Switch keys “will be delivered directly via email.”
As of right now, the game does have a listing up on the U.S. eShop but it only mentions Switch, not Switch 2. Team Cherry has already announced that Kickstarter backers will get the Switch version and can “download the (free) Hollow Knight: Silksong Upgrade Pack from the eShop to unlock” the ” Switch 2 enhanced features.
We don’t see this Upgrade Pack download anywhere yet, and the development team doesn’t explicitly say all Switch gamers can download the Switch 2 update for FREE, but it does appear as though that will be the case.
What time will Hollow Knight Silksong release tomorrow?
While these things can be hit or miss on some platforms, Team Cherry has officially stated the following:

7AM PT | 10AM ET | 4PM CEST | 11PM JST
That should mean the game will go live on the eShop, Steam, and elsewhere at 7 a.m. PT/10 a.m. ET tomorrow morning. As of the time of writing the Steam listing for the game says “this game plans to unlock in approximately 20 hours,” which would have the game available for download just about exactly when Team Cherry suggests.
The eShop still reads as “Releases TBD.”
And the PlayStation Store Sliksong listing actually has a countdown that lines up exactly with the 10 a.m. ET official time.
All told, it looks like we will all be a good few hours into the game at this time tomorrow, or at the very least have it ready to go when we get off work.
