Microsoft has just unleashed three brand-new special edition controllers – Heart Breaker, Ice Breaker, and Storm Breaker. Unlike the Cipher series, which launched one at a time, all three of the new Breaker series models are debuting together for the very first time. From metallic coatings to frosted translucent elements, these controllers are unlike anything we’ve seen in official Xbox controller lineup, so be sure to grab them after getting a closer look below. Amazon already has placeholder listings for the trio, with full details expected to go live soon, so keep an eye out.
Xbox Breaker series controllers now official
All three controllers in the new Breaker series sport distinct designs that set them apart from one another. The Ice Breaker carries a frosty, crystallized aesthetic with a glacier-blue palette and translucent finish. The Storm Breaker goes for a more understated vibe, blending black, white, gray, and silver tones. The Heart Breaker, meanwhile, stands out as the boldest of the trio, featuring striking pink and purple hues accented with a hint of blue. It’s also worth noting that the Storm Breaker is the only one with a metallic d-pad and an opaque top case, as the other two have a standard d-pad and translucent top-cases.
Outside of the new designs, though, these are your standard Xbox controllers that should work with Xbox Series S|X, Xbox One, Windows PC, Android, and iOS devices via an Xbox Wireless or Bluetooth connection. They also have a 3.5mm jack to plug in your favorite compatible headset, and you can use the Xbox Accessories App to “customize your controller profiles by remapping buttons, swapping sticks and triggers, and configuring controller vibrations to your liking.”
All three controllers within the new Breaker special edition series are available today for pre-order, and they’ll be released on September 9. Amazon, as previously mentioned, already has placeholder listings of these awaiting details, so keep an eye out. You can also snag them from the Microsoft store.
