LEGO announces the Ideas Gremlins: Gizmo set release from its 80s-themed challenge

It’s been an exciting summer of massive LEGO releases and new reveals, and hot on the heels of the previous unveiling of LEGO’s Icons Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Ship, the LEGO Group is bringing us a look at the next Ideas set that is inspired by another movie franchise – and one of my favorite Christmas movies – the 21361 Gremlins: Gizmo set. And it’s even open for preorders now too! Head below to get the rundown on this upcoming build alongside the photos we’ve collected.

We’ve been seeing a lot of 80s-themed building sets over the last year, and LEGO is continuing the trend with the Ideas 21361 Gremlins: Gizmo set, which gives us a detailed and posable figure of the cute mascot of the franchise – and the source of my middle school nickname – Gizmo! It’s been a little over a year since this set was announced as the winner of the If We Could Turn Back Time challenge, and its looking even more detailed after going through LEGO’s redesign.

It stacks up to 1,125 pieces and brings the iconic 80s furry friend of Billy Peltzer, but unlike in the movie, you won’t have to worry about accidentally getting it wet or feeding it after midnight and causing a city-wide panic of comedic proportions. When all is done and built, he’ll stand 8 inches tall (though you can pose him in a sitting position too) and gives you an adorable display piece worthy of greeting visitors. He’s even coming along with some fun accessories like the 3D glasses and a brick-sized little splash of water. LEGO insiders can pick it up starting October 1, 2025 at $109.99 shipped, with general release following a few days later.
