September has been quite the month of surprises for LEGO fans, as the first days have brought us several new building sets that folks have been giddy to get ahold of, followed by the confirmation of the previously leaked SEGA Genesis Controller set. Today, however, is giving us some of the biggest brick-built news to date – figuratively and literally – as The LEGO Group officially introduces its upcoming Star Wars 75419 UCS Death Star set that you won’t have to wait long to get hold of – and it’s coming with a GWP for those picking it up in the first days of it hitting the market. Following the reveals of JBL’s three new portable Bluetooth speakers, and plenty of other new big tech introductions, we’re now stepping into the realm of home and on-the-go theaters with the reveal of Anker’s new Soundcore Nebula X1 Pro at IFA 2025. This new mash-up device is taking a much-loved projector and packing it inside a larger body, along with a powerful subwoofer, to produce this Google TV mobile party projector to turn any place into your personal theater. We knew Hollow Knight: Silksong was going to be a big deal when it went live this morning on all platforms. But for those folks who were wondering if the launch would crash the Steam servers and break the eShop…the answer is yes. 

This is it folks, the countdown has not only begun but it is about to finally, after nearly a decade of waiting, end – Hollow Knight: Sliksong will be live on all platforms this morning. Perhaps outside of whatever Nintendo eventually released for Switch 2, the most anticipated game of the year is about to go prime time and be available to download across just about any platform you could want it on. 

IFA 2025 announcements have started flowing, and Aukey is jumping in on the action alongside other brands like Anker to showcase its new modular charging solution called MagFusion Ark. Remember when the only thing it seemed like robot vacuums couldn’t do was just go up the stairs? The biggest thing in gaming releases soon, very soon. And it’s an indie game. The long-awaited Hollow Knight: Silksong is finally here, or will be in well under 24 hours now, as developer Team Cherry has confirmed the release times for the game alongside the shocking $20 price of entry. 

Today Mophie is unleashing its new premium dual-device charging stand for AirPods Max. The  aptly named Max Charging Stand combines what the brands calls a premium anodized aluminum build with purpose-built AirPods Max features, including a magnetic USB-C charging dongle and auto sleep/wake functionality. Well, just a day after the audio giant JBL unveiled its upcoming Grip Portable Bluetooth Speaker for preorder, the brand is coming back today with two more new releases – the JBL Boombox 4 and PartyBox 720 speakers – and yes, these are also opening up for preorder today too. Microsoft has just unleashed three brand-new special edition controllers – Heart Breaker, Ice Breaker, and Storm Breaker. Unlike the Cipher series, which launched one at a time, all three of the new Breaker series models are debuting together for the very first time. The world’s most famous secret agent is set to make a triumphant return in AAA console game form soon, and Sony is set to deliver a lengthy gameplay blowout for the new 007 First Light this afternoon. We have already seen some relatively brief glimpses of gameplay as well as the reveal trailer, but nothing quite like we are in for today. 

Update: The LEGO SEGA Genesis Controller is now available as a gift with purchase when you checkout with at least $130 in your cart. 

The previously leaked LEGO SEGA Genesis Controller is official. The brick built gamepad made headlines just over a week ago when low res images were leaked online, but the set has now officially been revealed. 

Nintendo has been on a bit of a roll when it comes to adding to new titles to its classic game libraries for Switch Online members, and the next one has now been revealed. Just after Chibi-Robo! landed in the GameCube library for Switch 2 owners with a membership, it has now announced FORSAKEN 64 for the Nintendo 64 – Nintendo Classics collection.

Now roughly 48 hours out from one of the most highly-anticipated game releases of the year, Team Cherry has issued a final Kickstarter update on Hollow Knight: Silksong. It just recently confirmed the GameStop price leak at $19.99 here in the U.S. across what appears to be all platforms (as well as the launch times on September 4), but what does this mean for Nintendo Switch 2?

After many years of waiting, we are now only 5 days away from the release of the most highly-anticipated indie game (maybe ever) – Hollow Knight: Silksong. We finally know when the game will launch and even got a new trailer recently with a decent look at the game, but we still don’t know the price of it – unless a recent GameStop listing that surfaced is be to believed. 

It’s been an exciting summer of massive LEGO releases and new reveals, and hot on the heels of the previous unveiling of LEGO’s Icons Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Ship, the LEGO Group is bringing us a look at the next Ideas set that is inspired by another movie franchise – and one of my favorite Christmas movies – the 21361 Gremlins: Gizmo set. Nintendo has officially announced the launch of the first-ever Animal Crossing x Crocs collaboration, and everything is now available for purchase. While it might not be the Switch 2 Animal Crossing game we are all waiting for after rumors/leaks went live, these Animal Crossing Crocs clogs and Jibbitz seem like a perfect way to bring your island to life. 

A new report has surfaced claiming Nintendo will indeed host the next Nintendo Direct in the coming weeks. The Switch 2 has officially launched and has taken over the charts, and still we have not gotten a proper, full-on Nintendo Direct showcase since. But it looks like that’s about to change, and very soon now. 

The new summer LEGO reveals just keep coming, and now, a few days after we got the announcement of the new Ideas 21360 Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory set, we’re getting another movie staple in the form of LEGO’s new Icons 10365 Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Ship. Putting aside the missed opportunity to name it for what it is – The Black Pearl – this is a highly detailed rendition of the iconic ship and comes with plenty of characters you’d expect to populate it. The new Qi2.2 wireless charging standard is beginning to emerge and one of the first major brands out of the gate with a proper 3-in-1 MagSafe stand is Belkin. This better be real. Just after the new LEGO Game Boy went up for pre-order, and just ahead of its official release this fall, a new LEGO SEGA Genesis controller has surfaced online. There has been no official announcement as of yet, but imagery and details on a new LEGO Genesis gamepad have leaked online. 

The gamescom 2025 action rolls on today with hours (days) of Bethesda action. The Bethesda live streams will take place on Twitch and span throughout the day today and right through weekend. Rumor has it, after a “TBC” listing was spotted on its gamescom schedule recently, we might get a new game reveal as part of the event, and perhaps even the announcement of a new Fallout remake.

Creator Masahiro Sakurai hosted a dedicated Kirby Air Riders Nintendo Direct today to give us our very first look at gameplay from the upcoming Switch 2 title, and that he very much did. We got a lengthy look at just about every aspect of the experience, from the rider roster and a good look at the courses, the City Trial mode, riding machine details, and a whole a lot more. But we also got the official release date. 

Well, it finally happened. After seven long years of waiting and getting drip fed tiny bits of info, imagery, and a demo years ago now, Team Cherry hosted a special announcement on YouTube this morning that finally gave us what we have (all) been waiting for – the Hollow Knight Silksong release date! 

This summer has been quite busy for LEGO fans, as we’ve had some large quantities of new sets hitting the market over the last few months on top of plenty of new reveals, like the Disney 43279 WALL-E and EVE set that had everyone in their feelings over one of Pixar’s cutest couples. Today, the LEGO Group is revealing the upcoming Ideas 21360 Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory set, which is one that’s been a year in the making since being chosen by the LEGO Review Board last August. After hinting at a launch earlier this week, Insta360 has officially unveiled the latest version of its pocket-sized Go action camera. Called the Go Ultra, it sports a refreshed design along with some notable improvements that make it a solid option for folks who held off on picking up the Go 3S. Just before Hollow Knight Silksong takes center stage later this morning for a special announcement of its own, the Xbox gamescom livestream broadcast will kick into gear for day 2 of the world’s biggest gaming show. Yesterday’s livestream was loaded with game reveals, updates on upcoming titles, and we even got the official release date for the upcoming Xbox ROG Ally and ROG Ally X handhelds. 

Update 8/21: Chibi-Robo is now playable as part of the Switch 2 GameCube library.

Nintendo has now officially announced the next expansion for the Switch 2 GameCube library. The latest classic game library for Nintendo Switch Online members and Switch 2 owners launched alongside the next-gen console with three titles before Nintendo brought the classic Super Mario Strikers in late June, and now it is readying a fifth title. 

Update: Hollow Knight Silksong officially releases on September 4, 2025.

After being confirmed as an official sequel way back in 2019, with development starting before that to some degree, it’s been a very long wait for Hollow Knight: Silksong. After years of no-shows at gaming events and showcases, and becoming one of most wishlisted titles on Steam ever, it looks as though Team Cherry is finally ready to break the silence in a major way and finally give us the good news. 

The big summer game showcases came and went, and still no release date or even a proper look at the long-awaited Hollow Knight: Silksong. But gamescom 2025 is here, and so is Silksong. We still didn’t get a proper look or a release date for the bigger-than-indie 2D side-scrolling adventure at the Opening Night Live event yesterday, but industry darling and Game Awards boss Geoff Keighley did specifically say that it is “100%” for sure releasing this year, and we are almost certainly going to get the actual launch date tomorrow morning. 

After Sony decided to increase the price on PS5 hardware outside of the U.S. it seemed it was only a matter of time before the price hikes would land stateside, and that day has come. Sony has now taken to its official PlayStation Blog, right smack in the middle of the Xbox gamescom broadcast, to announce imminent price increases across the PS5 lineup – it begins tomorrow. 

Update: Best Buy has listed the new Xbox ROG Ally and ROG Ally X handhelds, briefly confirming the $549.99 and $899.99 prices in the backend. They’re not available to pre-order yet, though. Additionally, Best Buy has also listed $69.99 2-in-1 hard case and a $99.99 ROG 100W Charger Dock for ROG Xbox Ally.

Microsoft has confirmed the launch date for its new Xbox handhelds. Both the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X will officially arrive on October 16, though pricing and pre-order details still remain under wraps. The 2025 gamescom festivities kicked off in major way yesterday with the Opening Night Live livestream, and today it’s Microsoft’s turn. After Mr. Keighley got things going yesterday, guaranteeing Hollow Knight: Silksong will 100% be launching in 2025, followed by a string of new game reveals and new looks at a series of highly-anticipated titles, the ball rolls on today with the Day 1 Xbox @ gamescom broadcast. 

Just when you thought were surely going to get an update on the long-awaited Hollow Knight Silksong at tonight’s gamesome Opening Night Live, it looks like we are not. But not all is lost, as the official Team Cherry YouTube channel has posted a “Special Announcement” video set to go live on August 21…this could actually be it. 

Just as promised, we are getting a new exclusive look at the highly-anticipated Resident Evil Requiem at gamescom 2025 Opening Night Live. Host Geoff Keighley said we would, and after revealing the game back at the Summer Game Fest, gamescom is delivering once again and the next look at one of the biggest new titles on the Horizon. 

At today’s gamescom opening Night Live 2025, Activision announced the official release date for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Anyone who has followed our coverage of the leak that already surfaced won’t be in for any surprises here. 

Sony has just unleashed a handful of new gaming peripherals as part of its Inzone lineup, including its first gaming keyboard and mouse. The new additions include the Inzone H9 II headset, E9 in-ear headphones, KBD-H75 keyboard, Inzone Mouse-A, and a pair of mousepads. All these peripherals are now up for pre-order directly at Sony’s website and Amazon, with most of them shipping later this month, except the headset that hits the shelves on September 5.
