Nintendo Direct goes live today with the first major Partner Showcase of the Switch 2 generation, and you can watch it down below. There have been rumors abound for months on end for upcoming Microsoft Xbox titles coming to the platform, plenty of Ubisoft games, and chances are we will get some updates on those here today. Release dates for already confirmed Switch 2 ports like Elden Ring and the FF VII remake seem likely and we have heard word of Metaphor: ReFantazio and Death Stranding: Director’s Cut ports as well. Nintendo has finally gone official with long-awaited and much anticipated July Nintendo Direct. The livestream will mark the first proper Direct since Switch 2 launched, outside of the dedicated shows we have already got for the system’s two biggest launch titles, but we can’t help but be mildly skeptical/disappointed with what we know so far regarding tomorrow’s show – it is a Partner showcase after all. 

We’ve tested a bunch of chargers here at gadgetnewsonline, and while there are plenty of good ones that we continue to recommend, most of them fall short somewhere or the other – be it when it comes to the number of devices it can charge or the overall output it can deliver simultaneously. Rumors are abound of a July Nintendo Switch 2 Direct showcase, as we reported previously. This also comes along with predictions and rumors from reliable sources, both old and new, of which games might make an appearance. MagSafe wallets are a great alternative to traditional wallets, especially if you prefer to travel light with just a couple of cards and little to no cash. I personally love the convenience – they let me leave my regular wallet behind and carry one less item every time I step out. Having said that, I’m yet to find the one that checks all the right boxes for me. Most MagSafe wallets I’ve tried either don’t have enough space and barely fit one or two cards, or they don’t feel sturdy enough to keep my cards securely in place. One of the biggest issues I often run into with Hall effect gaming keyboards is that they typically fall short when it comes to typing experience outside of gaming. The few that do get it right – or at least come close – like the Glorious GMMK 3 Pro HE, usually cost over $300. As someone who enjoys building and tweaking mechanical keyboards as a hobby, I found myself constantly switching between standard mechanical keyboards for typing and Hall effect models for gaming. That changed when I got my hands on the Luminkey Magger68 Pro HE. Built by a brand known for offering a wide range of layouts and catering to enthusiasts with “high-end” custom boards, the Magger68 strikes that rare balance, at least for me. It’s not only great for typing but also includes all the key magnetic keyboard features like customizable actuation points. It it’s time to take a look at the upcoming Switch 2 game release schedule. The Switch 2 is clearly off to a wonderful start in terms of sales and Mario Kart World has (mostly) been a big hit among gamers, but despite Switch 2 delivering a more or less solid launch lineup as far as new console launches go, there still feels like something is missing for me. That said, there are some wonderful upgraded Switch 1 games to enjoy and whole host of notable titles on the horizon, both this year and next. 

Mario Kart World and the rest of the Nintendo Switch 2 launch games are out in the wild now, but the next major release on Nintendo’s schedule is Donkey Kong Bananza. The all-new 3D DK game has a ton of Super Odyssey vibes, and we have already had a decent look at the game, but there is still more Nintendo wants to show us before its release on Switch 2 come July 17. And today’s dedicated Donkey Kong Bananza Nintendo Direct presentation starts soon. 

Update: The mention below regarding the inner flap needing to be longer might actually be a bigger problem than it first appeared after the first week of testing. You should avoid this case as the inner zipper might damage the Switch 2 if you’re not super careful with it.

I finally did it—I submitted my Pokémon cards for grading for the very first time. And instead of going with PSA or Beckett, I decided to try something different: TAG. TAG is one of the newer grading companies out there, and what makes them interesting is that they use AI to grade cards, not people. This wasn’t about resale value. I just wanted to experience the entire process and see if it’s worth it for a casual collector like me. I found there to be a lack of content online on the step-by-step nuanced detail, so I figured I’d do it myself.

I recently went hands-on with UGREEN’s FineTrack Smart Finder which is a reliable AirTag alternative I still use daily to keep track of my car keys and get notifications if/when I leave it behind. While its compact design works well for keys, backpacks, and travel luggage, it’s too thick for a wallet. Nintendo hosted its long-awaited Switch 2 Direct on April 2, 2025 after officially unveiling the new Switch 2 console back in January, and, after pre-orders were initially delayed, they are finally set to go live at (just about) all major retailers in the U.S any minute, and it might be a good idea to go get in the queue folks, just in case.
