Black Friday always offers a wide variety of discounts on a number of products, but so far this year its been slim for consumers looking for a new Mac. We have confirmed some deals from Best Buy, but they are not offering a wide variety of configurations, and have tax implications depending on your state.
Adorama and B&H Photo are both offering discounts on most Mac models this week, we’ve already spotted a nice price drop on an iMac with Retina 5K display + AppleCare from Adorama.
In some cases Adorama is bundling AppleCare with a purchase for a discounted price. B&H currently only charges for taxes for New York residents at the time of purchase, while it varies for Adorama. Additionally, you’ll need a free Adorama VIP membership to take advantage of these prices.
Below you’ll find our top picks for deals on current generation MacBook Air, Retina MacBook Pro, Mac Pro and Mac Mini from these two retailers so far:
MODN Mall via eBay is offering a variety of iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 5, 5S and Android cases starting at $3.99 shipped. This represents a savings of up to 50% off the regular price at Amazon for these highly-rated cases.
Each style is available in multiple colors:
Browse MODN Mall’s full eBay store to check out other discounted accessories for iPhone 5s/5c/4, Galaxy S5, Nexus 5, and others.
LG and Amazon are offering 15% Amazon credit back on a number of HDTVs yielding some all time lows when you use the credit. Some standouts:

Target is offering the current generation 32GB iPod touch for $249 shipped with $50 gift card attached, effectively bringing your total down to $199 shipped. Additionally, REDcard holders can knock an extra 5% off yielding a total of $186 considering the value of the $50 GC.
Regularly listed at $249 from Apple, this is the lowest price in terms of value for the 5th generation 32GB iPod touch available. As comparison, Apple currently charges $199 for a refurbished 32GB 5th gen.
However, Best Buy is offering the same model iPod touch at a straight up discount of $219.99 shipped. While not quite as good as the above value from Target, it is nearly $10 under the next best price we can currently find (Walmart/B&H) and the lowest direct dollar discount available. Both Best Buy and Target are offering all 4 colors at the respective discounts: space grey, silver, pink, yellow, and blue.
Engineered for maximum funness. With an ultrathin design, a larger, 4-inch Retina display, a 5-megapixel iSight camera, iTunes and the App Store, Siri, iMessage, FaceTime, Game Center, and more—it’s the most fun iPod touch ever.

Update (11/22 10:40am): There appears to be some confusion surrounding this deal: You must download the Apple Store app for iPhone only to redeem the freebie. Head down to the comments section below for more clarification
The free Apple Store iOS app is now offering The Whole Pantry for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch as a free download. Regularly listed at $2.99, this marks only the second time we have seen the app go free since release. Note: once the free Apple Store app is installed on your device, simply go to the Store tab at the bottom, and scroll down to the free offer.
Previous Apple Store freebies were limited to those in the US, but user reports suggested that by disabling location services the download became available.

Google just bought RelativeWave, the company behind the mobile app prototyping software Form, and with the purchase it’s making the previously $80 Mac app available for free on the Mac App Store. The company made an announcement on its website noting that it will continue working on the Form app after joining Google:

Best Buy offers a Geek Squad Certified Refurbished Apple AirPort Extreme 802.11ac Wireless Base Station for $119.99 with free shipping. It serves up ultrafast 802.11ac WiFi, offers USB connectivity to easily share printers and hard drives, and can be configured with the Apple AirPort mobile app.
The Geek Squad Refurbished AirPort Express is also available for $59.99, which is $15 below Apple’s refurb price, and also a match for the lowest we have ever seen. Best Buy has a couple late 2013 MacBook Pros with deep discounts today. The 13.3” MacBook Pro with Retina display (ME866LL/A) is $1,359.99 shipped, which is as much as $340 or more under some listings and $140 under the next best price we can find from a trusted retailer. It has a 2.6GHz processor, 8GB RAM and 512GB of flash storage. While the newer models are slightly faster, some feel that considering the price difference the late 2013 models can offer a better value for users that don’t require the latest and greatest hardware. A current gen model with similar specs will run you as much as $1800.
You’ll also find a late 2013 15” model (ME294LL/A) for $1,999.99 shipped, which is down as much $500 compared to other retailers and $200 under the next best price we can find. It packs a 2.3GHz processor, 16GB RAM and 512GB of flash storage. More details on both models below.

Size is easily the most talked about attribute of the all-new iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. Obviously, the pumped up screens are getting much of the spotlight but their shaved down profiles and perfectly rounded edges are also turning heads.
We spend hundreds of dollars on these sexy new devices just to cover them up with bulky cases. The only other option is to rock your iPhone naked as the day it left Foxconn but then it’s more susceptible to breakage. Wraps and skins protect our devices from abrasions but not drops and quite frankly, are a pain in the neck to install.

However, ultra-thin cases maintain the iPhone’s slender design, while keeping it safe from scratches and everyday drops. Although, it’s important to keep in mind that cases less than 0.70mm thick are so slim that they won’t protect the protruding iSight camera.
If you can’t deal with the stress of going without a case but also don’t want to cover up Jony’s newest creation, then these ultra-thin cases may be the best choice for you…

Update (10/20 7:45am): coupon code has expired, but $399 for an unlocked iPhone 5 is still a great price.
Apple’s “unofficial” eBay Store is still going strong and the release of iPhone 6 has sparked new price drops on previous generation iPhones.
A factory unlocked manufacturer refurbished iPhone 5 now starts at just $399 and includes a full one year Apple warranty, is repackaged with manual and charger, and has been returned to like-new condition. Furthermore, the “final quality inspection [is performed] by Apple.” Enter redemption code CELL20SAVE during checkout and you’ll save an additional $20 on each model. That drops the price of a 16GB model down to $379 shipped.
As a pricing comparison, Apple is currently charging $450 for an unlocked iPhone 5c (essentially the same phone) with half as much storage. After surveying completed listings on eBay, most pre-owned iPhone 5 units sell for anywhere between $300-$400, but keep in mind those aren’t refurbished by Apple and generally do not include a warranty or any accessories.
Today’s coupon code also drops the 32GB iPhone 5 to $389 and the 64GB iPhone 5 to $399. All of these variations are Apple refurbished, include a one year warranty, and are eligible to be shipped to dozens of different countries:

Breakthrough Retina display. It’s even more than meets the eye.
The Retina display on iPad makes everything look crisp and lifelike. Text is razor sharp. Colors are vibrant. Photos and videos are rich with detail. All thanks to its 3.1 million pixels — a million more pixels than an HDTV.
Powerful A6X chip. High speeds ahead.
The new A6X chip inside iPad is up to twice as fast as the previous-generation A5X chip, and it delivers up to twice the graphics performance, without sacrificing battery life. Which means even the most advanced apps are smooth, responsive, and incredibly lifelike.
Over 300,000 apps. There’s almost no limit to what you can do.
Apps for iPad aren’t like anything else. That’s because every app — 300,000 and counting — is designed specifically for iPad. And with apps in just about every category, you can do things like make a commute more entertaining, a presentation more interesting, or a school lesson more inspiring, right from your iPad.

The cover of Target’s weekly ad puts the spotlight squarely on Apple. This week only, you can get a free Target gift card worth $20-$100 with the purchase of select Apple products. We’ve featured better deals for all of these products in the past, but if you need one of these products now then Target’s deals are certainly better than paying full retail.
Target’s offer of a free $100 gift card with the purchase of an iPad Air is the best deal of the bunch. However, there’s a really good chance we could see an updated model released at Apple’s rumored October 16th event. If Apple does release a new iPad Air model, it will most likely be priced at $500 and it most certainly won’t include a free gift card. Reports from 9to5Mac have so far pointed towards the new iPad Air only being a slight upgrade over the current model:
…the iPad update is expected to be minor — likely adding a gold option, Touch ID and an anti-reflective coating on the screen.
