With the announcement of LEGO Spike Prime, the company is really showing off its commitment to the classroom. LEGO Spike Prime is made with students spanning grades 6-8 in mind, but let’s be honest, every age group can have fun with it.

The set comes with a total of 523 pieces that all work together to provide builders with everything needed to make their own robots. LEGO touts that its hardware is easy to use and that the decision to use Scratch as the programming language will result in an intuitive experience for everyone involved.

Osmo’s teaching tools are coming to Amazon’s Fire tablets this November

Osmo is a well-known name when it comes to STEM smart-connected teaching tools. The company has made iPad-enabled learning games for kids ages 5 and up for some time now, but recently announced that these products will come to Amazon’s Fire line of tablets.

This is great because Amazon’s Fire tablet lineup is more affordable than Apple’s iPad, and makes it an easier entry point into homes to help kids learn and grow.

MIT students smash the Rubik’s Cube robotic solve time by using Playstation 3 Eye webcams

The classic 1980’s children’s toy, the Rubik’s Cube has remained a staple to this day for scientists, mathematicians and nerds alike. Completing the puzzle in minutes has been achieved by a few bright individuals and in recent years, researchers have trained robots to complete the task in a matter of seconds.
