Best of Black Friday — Apple: deals on iPad Air 2, iPhone 6s/Plus, Apple Watch, Macs, more!

The absolute last place you want to shop for iPhone, iPad, and Mac deals this Black Friday is the Apple Store. Historically, Apple’s participation in the biggest shopping day of the year has been limited to offering super modest (borderline insulting) discounts or free iTunes Gift Cards. We suspect this year won’t be any different.

On the flip side, other major retailers including Best Buy, Target, and Staples are extending huge discounts to many of Apple’s flagship products. To help you plan your holiday shopping, we’ve pored over every Black Friday ad available to bring you the very best upcoming Apple deals:

Every November Black Friday ads bring the promise of unbeatable deals. The only problem is that all-time great deals are hard to snag. However, we’ve put together the top 5 things you can do this Black Friday to improve your chances of grabbing the hottest online deals:

Target ad leak reveals planned Apple Watch discount for iPhone purchasers

After launching Apple Watch just last week, a recent ad leak suggests that Target is already planning to discount the wearable. The deal extends a savings of 10% to any Apple Watch when purchased alongside an iPhone 6s or 6s Plus starting this Sunday, November 1st.

Usually these types of bundles that require iPhone activation are pretty meh, but this one is noteworthy since iPhone 6s is still brand new. If you go with the most expensive Apple Watch Target sells, this promo will save you $69.90. REDcard holders save an additional 5% on their order. This is the first Apple Watch discount we’ve seen from a major retailer. Target has also knocked $20 off the 2-year contract pricing for Verizon and Sprint iPhone 6s/Plus 16GB models.

Nintendo announces official price drop coming for its 2DS handheld console

Nintendo has announced an official price drop coming to its already affordable 2DS handheld system. It currently holds a suggested retail price of $129.99, but come August 30th, the portable system will drop to $99.99 shipped. The 2DS, which plays almost the entire 3DS (and DS) library of games, will still ship with Mario Kart 7 when the new price drop hits at the end of the month.

We have seen the 2DS dip down to $100 and even lower a few times in the last year or so, plus a few sweet refurbished deals for even less. In fact, GameStop has it for under $100 in-store right now at some locations. However, with the official price drop we are likely to see prices come down even further from major retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, Target, GameStop and more, so it might be a smart idea to hold-off on purchasing until that happens.

For today’s best gaming deals head over to our daily roundups.

REDMOND, Wash.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–One of Nintendo’s best values will be getting even better. On Aug. 30, the suggested retail price of the portable Nintendo 2DS system drops to $99.99, down from the current suggested retail price of $129.99. Even at the new suggested price, the system will still come packaged with the digital version of the acclaimed Mario Kart 7 game, making Nintendo 2DS an amazing value for shoppers.

“The new lower-priced hardware combined with the strong lineup of new games launching this year and arguably the best library of games in this generation makes it a great time to be a Nintendo fan.”

People looking for a great game to play with their new system can also pick up Little Battlers eXperience, which launches Aug. 21 for all Nintendo 3DS family systems, including Nintendo 2DS.

“At a suggested retail price of $99.99, Nintendo 2DS is an even more attractive introductory option for first-time gamers,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing. “The new lower-priced hardware combined with the strong lineup of new games launching this year and arguably the best library of games in this generation makes it a great time to be a Nintendo fan.”

Ever since it launched in October 2013, Nintendo 2DS has been the go-to system for newcomers to the world of quality Nintendo video games. The system plays nearly the entire library of Nintendo 3DS games in 2D, as well as most Nintendo DS games. Players with Internet access can compete online, or enjoy local multiplayer co-op experiences with other Nintendo 3DS family system owners. With no hinges, the durable construction of Nintendo 2DS makes it perfect for younger players…

Target turns up the heat on Best Buy/Amazon by slashing its free shipping threshold

Target has dropped its free shipping threshold down to $25 making it one of the best places to order small items from. By meeting the minimum order limit, Target customers will receive free 3-5 business day shipping as well as free returns on all orders. They also have free in-store pick up which is another advantage over some online retailers you have a local store. In comparison, Best Buy and Amazon offer free shipping on orders of $35+, while Walmart takes off the fee at $50+.

Target has upped its online offerings in recent years, with programs such as Cartwheel handing out discounts and its REDcard bringing additional 5% savings plus free shipping on all purchases. Much like Amazon, Target has a subscription service for some goods which also allows you to schedule delivery and save 5% on eligible orders.

Walmart readies the best iPhone 6/Plus discounts since Black Friday

Walmart is making a push to bolster iPhone sales and get more shoppers in its store during the final lead up to Christmas. Starting this Saturday and running for an entire month, Walmart will knock $70 off the 16GB iPhone 6 and 6 Plus contract prices, and $50 off the 16GB 5s, according to BGR. Sam’s Club, the members-only warehouse store, will have the same deal as Walmart but $2 less.

These are the best price we’ve seen on Apple’s flagship iPhones since Black Friday when Sam’s Club dropped its price below $100.

Today’s report doesn’t make note of discounts for any other models. However, Target is currently including a free $50 gift card with all iPhone 6 capacities.

Canada Black Friday round-up: Best Buy, Walmart, Future Shop, Amazon, Canadian Tire, more

While Black Friday is clearly one of the biggest shopping holidays in the US, Boxing Day tends to offer even deeper sales north of the border for Canadians. But over the past few years more and more Canadian retailers are adopting the popular American tradition, and this year is no exception.

Like in the U.S, major retailers are offering week long deals leading right up to Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Best Buy, Walmart, Amazon, Target and Future Shop, among others, have already launched early pre-Black Friday sales. Others, like Canadian Tire, will be kicking off deals starting on the 27th and running them through the weekend.

Best Buy has a number of Sony, Samsung and LG HDTV’s on sale through this week, as well as up to $200 off Retina Macbook Pros and other PC laptops. Come Friday the retailer will be offering GoPro discounts as well as a PS4 with The Last of US Remastered and GTA V for $449 ($520 value). We will also see a 50-inch Vizio smart HDTV under $500 and PC laptop discounts. Many of Best Buy’s Black Friday deals are set to begin at 11:59pm on November 27th.

Walmart is already offering discounts across pretty much every product category from HDTVs and headphones to home goods, tools, toys and much more. Walmart is also expected to have some of the best gaming deals around come Friday including a PlayStation 4 with The Last of Us and a $75 Walmart Gift Card for $449.99 ($525 value) and the Xbox One with Assassin’s Creed Unity, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and a $50 Walmart Gift Card for $349 ($450 value). Apple iPod touch 32GB current gen (multiple colors): $220 or $249 w/ $50 gift card (Reg. $249)

Target is offering the current generation 32GB iPod touch for $249 shipped with $50 gift card attached, effectively bringing your total down to $199 shipped. Additionally, REDcard holders can knock an extra 5% off yielding a total of $186 considering the value of the $50 GC.

Regularly listed at $249 from Apple, this is the lowest price in terms of value for the 5th generation 32GB iPod touch available. As comparison, Apple currently charges $199 for a refurbished 32GB 5th gen.

However, Best Buy is offering the same model iPod touch at a straight up discount of $219.99 shipped. While not quite as good as the above value from Target, it is nearly $10 under the next best price we can currently find (Walmart/B&H) and the lowest direct dollar discount available. Both Best Buy and Target are offering all 4 colors at the respective discounts: space grey, silver, pink, yellow, and blue.

Xbox One holiday price drop now live across all retailers with prices starting at $349 (or lower)

Just in time for the Black Friday deal season, Microsoft announced a $50 price drop coming to all major retailers for Xbox One consoles and bundles last week. While most stores ended up offering the deal early on some bundles, we are now seeing the discounts live across a number of retailers including Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Microsoft Store, Walmart, Target and more.

Starting at $349 for the entry level Xbox One without Kinect, Microsoft’s latest console is now $50 under the regular price of Sony’s PlayStation 4. But keep in mind you can easily find PS4’s on eBay for $360 shipped, and we have seen them drop to $350 previously so don’t be surprised to see them go even lower as the deal season continues.

Target announces free shipping for all items through the holiday shopping season

Here comes the holiday push. Target has just announced that all online orders placed from now until December 20th will qualify for free shipping.

Typically only orders exceeding $50 or placed with a REDcard would evade shipping costs. The only other option was to choose free in-store pickup. Again, there is no order minimum on this promotion so everything from cheap DVDs to pricey HDTVs are fair game.

We really hope that this forces the hand of other retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, and Staples to put their free shipping requirements on hold this holiday season.

Free Target gift cards w/ the purchase of select Apple products: iPad Air, Apple TV, iPhone 5s, more

Site default logo image

The cover of Target’s weekly ad puts the spotlight squarely on Apple. This week only, you can get a free Target gift card worth $20-$100 with the purchase of select Apple products. We’ve featured better deals for all of these products in the past, but if you need one of these products now then Target’s deals are certainly better than paying full retail.

Target’s offer of a free $100 gift card with the purchase of an iPad Air is the best deal of the bunch. However, there’s a really good chance we could see an updated model released at Apple’s rumored October 16th event. If Apple does release a new iPad Air model, it will most likely be priced at $500 and it most certainly won’t include a free gift card. Reports from 9to5Mac have so far pointed towards the new iPad Air only being a slight upgrade over the current model:

…the iPad update is expected to be minor — likely adding a gold option, Touch ID and an anti-reflective coating on the screen.

That said, here are the deals:

Apple iPad mini for $199 (33% off) goes live online and at Target stores

Site default logo image

Update (8/18 11:45am): Only available for store pickup.

Update (8/17 9:20 AM): Staples is offering all WiFi-enabled iPad Airs (Space Gray or Silver) for $130 off.

Confirming our report from earlier this month, Target has revived its $199 iPad mini sale this morning. At the time of posting it’s available both online at Target.com and at Target retail locations.

We’ve been told by a Target rep that quantities are limited and as such we highly recommend picking one up today. This deal is $100 better than retail and $20 less than Apple charges for a refurbished model. The first generation iPad mini features a 7.9-inch LED-backlit display, 10-hour battery life, and dual-core A5 chip.

[tweet https://twitter.com/b_ortolf13/status/500953665130463232]

There’s also a $50 discount on the iPad Air, but that isn’t nearly as noteworthy since several retailers were offering it for $100 off last week.

REDcard holders can save additional 5%. Limit 2 iPads per customer, while supplies last.

Note: if size matters to you, you can get a 9.7-inch 32GB iPad 2 for $220 on Ebay. Though it is refurbished, you’ll likely be spared tax at time of purchase.

Even bigger? Grab a 32GB iPad Air for $489.99 shipped at Ebay. That’s $110 off of retail and the lowest we’ve ever seen it.

Update (7/6 7:30am): This promotion is now live via Target online and Target stores.

Last month Target set the deal world ablaze with its $199 iPad mini deal. This major retailer looks primed to once again launch an unprecedented iPad sale.

According to a leaked ad scan that has shown up on several online forums and blogs, starting this Sunday July 6th, Target will offer free $100 gift cards with the purchase of an iPad Air or iPad with Retina display. The ad only mentions 16GB capacities of both models, but also states “other Wi-Fi models available” for iPad Air, so this discount may apply to more configurations beyond 16GB. We won’t know for sure until the deal page goes live later this weekend.

You can also save 10% on all iTunes gift cards and $10 on an Apple TV. Target is also besting Walmart’s recent iPhone promotion by offering a 5s for $100 with a free $20 gift card.

We have frequently seen the iPad Air drop to $400 via eBay Daily Deals, but this is the first time we have seen a current generation iPad promotion of this caliber from a major retailer.

REDcard holders can save an additional 5% on top of all advertised prices.

Target stores set to knock 33% off iPad mini this Sunday, get one for $199

Site default logo image

Image via Times Union blog

Beginning this Sunday, June 8th, Target stores are reportedly planning one of the best iPad deals we’ve seen since Black Friday. According to an early ad scan obtained by the Times Union blog, Target will offer the first generation iPad mini for just $199. To put this deal in perspective you must consider that just yesterday Apple dropped its refurbished price for the same model down to $219 and we considered that a slam dunk deal.

Originally released in fall of 2012, the iPad mini is still apart of Apple’s current iPad lineup and will receive iOS 8 later this year. It features a 7.9-inch LED-backlist display, dual-core A5 chip, and up to 10-hours of battery life.

The ad warns that only limited quantities are available so we would highly recommend getting to your local Target store before it opens.

Get ready for your new iPad mini by saving 70% on a ZAGG backlit keyboard case.

iPad Deals: iPad Air 64GB WiFi $580 (Reg. $699), free $50 Target gift card w/ iPad Air, Retina iPad mini $369 plus $20 Target GC

Update (6/2 11:30am): Altatac (Top Rated Plus seller) via eBay Daily Deals offers a 64GB iPad Air WiFi for $579.99 shipped (Reg. $699)

Target offers free gift cards with the purchase of select iPads this week. If you pick up an iPad Air you will receive a $50 Target gift card, or a $20 card with a Retina iPad mini (which is already $30 below list). Target also has buy one, get one 30% off iTunes gift cards. iPhone pricing war heats up as Walmart offers 5s for $119 and Target launches iPad trade-in promotion

Site default logo image

Update March, 14: Target just let us know it’s taking an additional 1o% off iPad Air and iPad mini with Retina display in addition to the trade-in offer and gift cards mentioned below. The extra 10% off is available through Target’s Cartwheel app.

New Apple promotions from Walmart and Target may be enticing enough for holdouts to finally upgrade to the newest iPhone and iPad.

Walmart is getting aggressive and beating out Best Buy’s current $50 discount on iPhone 5s by dropping the price all the way down to $119, according to CNN Money. This is one of the lowest prices we have ever seen for Apple’s flagship smartphone.

Target’s PS4 launch week ad leaks: will offer buy 2 get 1 free on PS4, Xbox One games, others

Site default logo image

Update 2: The Target Buy 2 get 1 Free Sale is now live! There are hundreds of qualifying titles from Call of Duty: Ghosts and Grand Theft Auto V to Battlefield 4, Madden 25, Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, FIFA 14, and Batman: Arkham Origins, to name a few. The deals are spread across all platforms including next gen.

Update: It looks as though the leaked image is for Target’s PS4 launch week discounts, not specifically its Black Friday deals.

More gaming deals leading up to Black Friday are starting to leak after GameStop’s 12 page ad surfaced earlier this month with some serious gaming and console deals. It looks as though Target is next, users on Reddit have posted an image of its upcoming PS4 launch week flyer.

According to the leaked image, Target will be running what might be the best deal on next-gen titles we have seen yet. It will offer a buy 2 get 1 free promo on all in stock games including PS4, Xbox One and what appears to be current gen titles as well. Target will also run a deal on the MOGA Hero Android controller with a $10 Google Play gift card.

Stay tuned to Toys, as we will be keeping you up to date with in-stock next gen pre-orders as availability becomes tighter. Amazon currently has an  Xbox One bundle available right now and Wal Mart has a Playstation 4 bundle currently listed as available as well. Both bundles are guaranteed before Dec 25, and are not Day 1 pre-orders.

You can check out the leaked Target ad below the fold. In the time of year when everything goes on sale, keep on eye on gadgetnewsonline over the coming weeks as we will be separating the not-so-hot discount prices from the actual good deals all month long leading up to Black Friday.

Target matching $49 iPhone 5c deal offered by Walmart, BestBuy, & others starting Sunday

Site default logo image

It wasn’t long after the device’s launch that retailers began offering discounts on Apple’s new colorful iPhone 5c. The device was supposed to hit retail for $99, but Walmart, BestBuy and RadioShack quickly dropped down to $79 on the usual two-year contract and then eventually to just $49. As it did with the $79 deal, Target has informed us that this weekend it will begin matching the $49 deal offered by other retailers through its Target Mobile centers in over 1,500 of its stores across the country. As usual, it will also offer an additional 5 percent off for customers with a Target REDcard.
