Now just days away from the official PlayStation Pro release date, Sony has taken to the official PlayStation Blog to detail which games will be taking advantage of the console’s upgraded power at launch. After such a long wait for the eventual official reveal and live pre-order listings on Sony’s upgraded pro-grade console, it can sometimes be easy to forget why we were all so stoked for it – the games. While we already detailed some of the titles that will see enhancements with PS5 Pro previously, today Sony is now giving up a much larger list of games ready for the pro jump come November 7.
Sony has now taken to the official PlayStation Blog to detail the November PS Plus FREE games. Today, Sony is expanding its lineup of lauded audio gear with a pair of new LinkBuds Fit, the LinkBuds Open you see above we have had some early hands-on time with, and the new LinkBuds speaker. The brand has mades waves across the ultra-competitive headphones market with its XM4 and XM5 headphones and wireless earbuds, often times undercutting and, at least for some, outperforming the big-time offerings from Bose, Apple, and others, but today it is focused on the slightly more affordable LinkBuds side of its lineup. As we reported yesterday, Sony is hosting the next State of Play this afternoon and we are here to watch it along with you. We knew there was going to be 30+ minutes of news and updates on upcoming PS5 games and PS VR2 titles, as per Sony’s official announcement, but it looks like an update on the PlayStation Store might have given up, at least, some of the surprises we would have been in for today as well (more details on this below). We aren’t expecting to see any new hardware, considering how busy Sony has been on that front over the last week or so with PS5 Pro and the 30th anniversary PS1-style consoles and controllers, but either way it all starts very soon and you can follow along down below.
We all sort of thought it was coming about as much as we thought it definitely wasn’t, but Sony just debuted the official new 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Console Bundles in epic PS1 gray! The pre-orders for PS5 Pro are set to kick off in just under a week’s time, but Sony is landing today with an exciting new announcement to take its 30th anniversary celebration to the next level with the new PS5 Pro, PS5 Digital, all of its controls now receiving a special, nostalgic coat of gray paint and retro PlayStation logos. The PS5 Pro is set to be revealed today. Or at least just about all signs are suggesting as much. Sony announced a Technical Presentation hosted by lead console architect Mark Cerny yesterday before folks spotted a not so discreet title on the unlisted YouTube video for the teaser video that simply read “PS5 Pro.” This could be a terrible joke, something to drum up hype, or a sad mistake on whoever runs PlayStation’s official YouTube channel part, but it probably isn’t and Mr. Cerny is now just hours away from taking the stage to reveal what the new PS5 Pro is truly capable of in today’s special Technical Presentation.
With the all of the rumors hinting toward a September reveal and the 30th anniversary celebrations officially in full swing, tomorrow’s now official PlayStation 5 Technical Presentation has just got be what we have all been waiting for, doesn’t it? Sony has now taking to the official PlayStation Blog to officially announce a “Technical Presentation,” not a State of Play, not a PlayStation Showcase, but a Mark Cerny-led showcase specifically focused on PS5 tech. You don’t pull the Lead Architect of the PS5 console out of the lab for a random update on a console that’s been out for years do you? Sony is celebrating 30 years of PlayStation with the release of Astro Bot this Friday, a “nostalgic homage to the original Gran Turismo,” digital soundtracks from classic PlayStation games, and the new “Shapes of Play” collection, among other things. But what better way to usher in 30 years of PlayStation then with the reveal of PS5 Pro and a subsequent launch? Am I right? Sony has just announced the latest generation of its professional reference headphones, the Sony MDR-M1 over-ear headphones. It’s very similar to the wildly popular MDR-7506 headphones and has a slightly updated design, a new set of drivers, a wider frequency range, and improved bass response, among other things. What we dubbed “the summer’s best new speaker” has now dropped back down to its best price on Amazon. Amazon is offering the Sony ULT Field 1 Wireless Ultra Portable Bluetooth Compact Speaker down at $98 shipped in all four colorways. Regularly $129, this is only the second time we have seen them on sale with today’s offer marking a return to the Amazon all-time low. Okay, thanks for knocking $100 off for a limited time Sony, but where’s the PS VR2 PC support you promised? One thing, just about everyone, feels is holding the PS VR2 platform back is its required connection to a PS5. This arguably makes for a more stable experience for all users, but it needs to get PC support and, if you ask me, it needs it soon. It has been out in the wild for well over a year now, the game library still feels a bit stunted (although it is showing off new titles tomorrow), and, at least in some ways, sales are too because of it.
