Grand Theft Auto 5’s PC version is getting ray-tracing, DualSense support, more via FREE upgrade next month

While we’re waiting for Rockstar Games to announce the release date of Grand Theft Auto 6, it’s busy pushing updates to its existing blockbuster title. The PC version of Grand Theft Auto V is getting a free upgrade in a few days, bringing support for ray-traced global illumination, ambient occlusion, and a bunch of other features. The company confirmed the same via an official blog post and announced the upgrade will be available for free from 4th March. Grand Theft Auto 6 might be coming to Nintendo Switch 2

Yesterday we got official words from Take-Two that Grand Theft Auto VI was still scheduled to release this fall, just after an official Nintendo patent seemingly confirmed the existence of mouse mode on Switch 2. But is there any connection between the two? Well not exactly, but the CEO of Rockstar’s parent company, Strauss Zelnick, did suggest that it plants to support Switch 2 as much as possible.

Update 05/16/24: Grand Theft Auto VI is set for release in the fall of 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, according to latest Take-Two earnings report.

Grand Theft Auto VI is coming in 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. No other platforms have been mentioned at this time.

Update 3: The debut GTA 6 trailer is now breaking viewer records on YouTube. With over 78 million views now, it is reportedly the most-viewed non-music video on YouTube in 24 hours.

Rockstar says the first Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer will officially debut next week on Dec. 5

As promised, Rockstar will be officially unveiling the very first trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 this month and we now know exactly when that will be. The developer officially announced it was working on the follow up to the record-breaking GTA 5 way back in February of 2022, but gamers will be gamers and we have really been waiting for this for a whole lot longer than that. And the wait is almost over. Last month Rockstar promised it would be showing off the first official footage of its highly-anticipated new open-world crime epic in an open letter to fans, and we now know it will be coming on Tuesday, December 5. Rockstar just officially announced the first Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer will hit next month

After what feels like a lifetime of waiting in anticipation, the first official announcement for Grand Theft Auto 6 has arrived via an open letter on its official site. Rockstar finally set to bring Red Dead Redemption to Nintendo Switch later this month

Red Dead Redemption for Nintendo Switch is officially on the way now. It tends to take a while before Rockstar’s beloved and behemoth open world titles make their way on to Nintendo hardware, but we now know the epic Red Dead Redemption is arriving very soon. A new trailer posted on both the official Rockstar site and the Nintendo UK YouTube page confirms as much, stating that both the Undead Nightmare DLC and the game proper will land on Nintendo Switch later this month come August 17, 2023. New details of GTA 6 have seemingly emerged, including the game’s setting, playable characters, and overall change of tone. Grand Theft Auto 5 released ages ago (back in 2013) and, much like previous games in the series, has remained relevant ever since. That’s largely due to the ever-expanding GTA Online that remained one of the top 20 best selling games right up until 2020, but Rockstar has seemingly begun to move its development focus from its persistent Grand Theft Auto world over to new projects, the biggest of which is likely GTA 6.
