gadgetnewsonline Specials currently has the AirServer Universal Mirroring Receiver for just $10. It is a great way to stream content from your iOS devices to your Mac or PC.
Haven’t we all been in that situation, in need of a piece of paper to sketch out that important idea? Trying to capture a visual representation of that conversation or meeting you just had at the coffee shop. Today, we’ve got a pretty cool Kickstarter project that wants to take those worries away.
Actually, it just wants to take the paper away all together…

gadgetnewsonline Specials currently has PhoneClean iOS Cleaner for $10. It is a great way to lose the clutter and speed up your iPhone or iPad.
App downloads are a centerpiece of owning an iOS device, but with each app comes a whole load of unwanted data and memory use. PhoneClean is an app for PC and Mac that helps you sweep out unused apps from your device, along with unwanted caches, cookies, messages and attachments, crash logs, and media files. It can also clean up your browsing history for speedier web surfing, and fix corrupt or partially synced files, such as music and video. As a safety net, PhoneClean backs up everything on your phone before every clearout, and if you have jailbroken your device, you can shrink the apps you want to keep by losing inessential components.
After seeing a number of iPhone 6/Plus OtterBox cases go on sale at Amazon late last week, today we spotted the iPhone 6 Plus Defender Series case in black for $32.99. It ships free for Prime members (free trial) or on orders of $35 or more. That’s nearly 50% off the original $60 price tag, a few cents under the lowest Amazon has offered it for and the best price we can find on the 6 Plus Defender in black.
Designed specifically to keep your 6 Plus safe and sound, it features 3-layer polycarbonate shell protection and can withstand “drops, bumps and shock”. The Defender has a built-in screen protector, port covers to keep debris and dust out while still being accessible, and comes with a belt holster that doubles as a kickstand. This model has a 4.1/5 star rating from over 1,700 Amazon customers.
If you’re looking for the smaller version, Tanga is offering the iPhone 6 Defender series case for $24.99 shipped, which is more than $10 under Amazon and the best price we can find. It has the same features and specs as the 6 Plus model. Rated 4.1/5 stars from over 4,000 Amazon customers.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/rmrdtech/a-small-wind-turbine-for-a-big-difference
Now more than ever, consumers are finding that there is a need for backup power sources away from home. We frequently highlight deals on portable USB power banks that provide an extra boost of energy when your iPhone or iPad is about to die. One unique Kickstarter is setting out to do the same but plans on relying on the power of wind to supply your devices with more battery life.
The RMRD 2.0 Small Wind Turbine is designed by a group of developers that have leaned on the ease of 3D printing with the power of wind to create a portable USB power supply. The design is fairly straight forward: it starts with a simple turbine that is on a stand, it rests above a pole where it can spin freely in the wind. From there, the energy is collected and transferred to your device via USB and a lithium-ion battery, providing five volts of power with 5.5 m/s of wind.
Whether charging a device directly off the turbine or fueling up a battery pack for later, the Small Wind Turbine from RMRD offers a unique way to charge while leveraging the resources around us. If it comes to fruition, this would be an intriguing option for campers or off-the-grid enthusiasts. Those interested can get in during the Kickstarter campaign for $239, which includes the turbine, a lithium-ion battery and carrying case. So far, RMRD has raised just over 15% of its goal with 41 days remaining.

gadgetnewsonline Specials currently has the ‘Neutron A’ Magnetic Phone and Tablet Car Mount for $30 with free shipping. It uses powerful magnets for an instant secure hold.
The benefits of being able to use your phone safely while driving are obvious. But getting your phone into many holders is a challenge, so the Neutron A’s magnetic mounting is refreshing. You simply stick a small patch onto the back of your phone or tablet which makes it strongly attracted to the Neutron A’s magnet. As a result, you simply have to hold your device up to the mount for it to lock into place. The mount and the stick-on pad are held on by strong-but-removable 3M VHB tape (usually used in aircraft maintenance), meaning you can use the Neutron A with a case.
Update (5/18 7:50am): Amazon is now offering the OtterBox iPhone 6 Plus Case Commuter Series case in black for $21.38 Prime shipped (Orig. $45, best we can find).

It features a raised beveled edge to protect iPhone’s display, dual material construction to “absorbs shock and withstands drops” and a simple installation. It ships with a one year warranty and received a 4.5/5 star rating from nearly 1,000 Amazon customers.

Full-price iPhones are expensive. It’ll cost you upwards of $949 to get Apple’s latest smartphone without a two year contract (or some scammy financing program) from one of the major carriers.
Walmart is discounting iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus refurbished, no contract units. To clarify, these do not come with a contract and do not extend your current contract, but do come locked to their respective carriers. There isn’t much information regarding any warranty, but a quick look through reviews shows that you can expect these iPhones to come in good condition.

Back in January, I found myself becoming increasingly enamored with the idea of making bicycling a serious a hobby. A month later I was the proud owner of a Trek CrossRip hybrid bike, great for riding around town but also for longer trips through the country. There are a plethora of good apps for iOS that track and record your excursions. I found this to be particularly handy in keeping tabs on my progress as a rider. The ExoMount’s suction cup can actually be attached to your car’s dashboard with one hand, and it swivels easily through 360º to the ideal angle. That makes it pretty useful for using GPS apps or making hands-free calls, but it can fix to any flat or rounded surface, so it is useful around the house (e.g. your desk), as well. It happily takes any device up to phablet size, and the suction cup is easily washable.

The popular Roomlia hotel savings application for iOS and Android is today launching an interesting new
loyalty program. Basically, if you stay 7 nights, you will get a night free.
In order to get to that free night, the application will add up the amount you paid each night for your first 7 nights, and then it will credit you back the average. In most cases, this will obviously work out to an eight night free.
The cool parts about the program, which differentiate it from competitors, are that these are actual nights, not days, and the nights can be combined. You don’t need to stay 7 nights in a row to get the credit back toward an either night. You can stay for 3 nights during one trip, and 4 nights on another trip to get up to the 7.
The app is developed by a team made up of former Expedia developers, the application actually has some great deals that beat out some of the competition.
New hotels and supported cities are added each week, and users can book rooms up to 7 days in advance, for up to 5 nights at a time.
The application is free on iOS and Android, and the new loyalty card system launches today.

It’s a great time to be a gamer as we continue to see old classics re-made into new current gen games (as long as it’s legal!). The latest to get a modern re-hashing is the vintage DuckTales 8-bit game from the 80’s. Gamers will be able to play as Scrooge McDuck in this re-make of the classic side-scrolling game as he journeys through different parts of the world. The game features voice-overs from all the original actors, retaining the authentic experience of this 80’s classic. DuckTales: Remastered supports Bluetooth controllers and is available for download today with a $9.99 price tag. There is also a console version available as well for Wii U, PS3 and Xbox 360.
Most of us enjoy our audio, albeit from iTunes or Spotify or the like, on an iPhone when we are on the go. The reality is that while iPhones are a decent source for audio, the internal make-up isn’t as strong as it could be when it comes to enjoying your favorite tunes.
This is where a digital-to-analog-converter can really come in handy, taking the stress off your device and letting the DAC do all the work. Audio accessory maker Onkyo has a new solution that utilizes the Lightning port instead of the typical 3.5mm jack to provide higher-fidelity audio.
