AT&T offering $50 Google Play credit with purchase of an Android device

Now, Google is partnering with AT&T for another deal. Starting today, you will get $50 in Google Play credit when you purchase a qualifying Android smartphone from AT&T. The credit is valid towards anything in the Play Store, such as apps, movies, music, and TV.

Every Android device AT&T sells qualifies, while iPhones Windows Phones obviously do not. The deal is also valid with all of AT&T’s contract options, including two-year agreements and AT&T Next. The deal will run until July 17th and is available on AT&T’s website only, not in stores. A new line of service is required, as well.

Get a $50 Amazon credit and 6 months of Google Play w/ a Sonos PLAY:3 or PLAY:5 wireless speaker

Site default logo image

Amazon offers a free $50 Amazon credit with the purchase of any Sonos PLAY:3 or PLAY:5 wireless speaker. Even better, Sonos is still giving new users 6 months of free access to the Google Play streaming music service. Sonos products don’t go on sale very often, so scoring two promotions on a single purchase is a great deal.

The Sonos streaming speakers provide wireless access to your iTunes music library, Pandora, SiriusXM and other music services from your iPhone, iPad or other smart device. Critics hail the Sonos system for being incredibly easy to setup and pumping out huge room-filling sound. You can easily extend your system by simply adding more Sonos players throughout your listening space. Simply put, the Sonos Player is one of the best ways to add a great sounding internet streaming sound system to your home or work space.

We wholeheartedly recommended the PLAY:1 speaker in our review.

From 9to5Google:

If you’re looking to give Google’s ChromeOS a try, the 11.6″ HP LTE-equiped Chromebook may be your best option right now. The non-LTE version of the Chromebook usually sells for $279, but the LTE model is actually available now for only $249. The connectivity isn’t the only difference between the two, either. The LTE model comes with 16 GB of flash storage while the more expensive, less-capable version uses a standard hard drive of the same size.

Both come with 2 GB of RAM, a 1.7 GHz Samsung Exynos processor, built-in webcam, support for 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, and weigh only 2.3 pounds. Both models are also available in a range of colors. Google offering 25% off select Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 accessories

The Nexus 7 sleeve, case, and folio are all available for 25% percent off, while the Nexus 5 bumper and QuickCover qualify for the offer.

Of course, even with the 25% discount, all of these accessories are still considerably more expensive than they should be. You can find much better cases and folios, for both the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7, a lot cheaper on Amazon. If you want official, Google/LG made products, however, than this deal is certainly nothing to complain about.

Google Chromecast HDMI player $35 w/ free shipping

Update (8/27) #2: Sold out again at Best Buy, but Amazon and Google Play are still accepting orders for future delivery.

Update: If Amazon shows sold out be sure to check Best Buy and Google Play for availability. Also, Google has ended the free Netflix promo due to ‘overwhelming demand.’

Amazon is now offering the Chromecast streaming media player for $35 with free shipping. This total can be up to $6 lower than ordering from the Google Play store when you take into account potential tax savings (at time of purchase) and shipping costs.

This device will wirelessly beam movies, music, web content and more from Android, iOS, Mac and PC devices to any HDTV via a WiFi connection. As of right now the Chromecast supports Google Play, YouTube, Netflix, and Chrome, but Google promises future support for more services. 9to5Google notes that in some respects it is even more versatile than an Apple TV, “Unlike Airplay, the Chromecast stick allows to original device to turn off or go to sleep. It functions as as a standalone streaming device, awaiting orders…”
