Back in January, I found myself becoming increasingly enamored with the idea of making bicycling a serious a hobby. A month later I was the proud owner of a Trek CrossRip hybrid bike, great for riding around town but also for longer trips through the country. As someone that enjoys technology, I quickly looked for ways to make my new hobby a connected experience.
There are a plethora of good apps for iOS that track and record your excursions. I found this to be particularly handy in keeping tabs on my progress as a rider. However, finding a safe, visible spot for my iPhone 6 during the ride proved to be more challenging. The beauty of having all of this data is somewhat lost when your phone is stored away during your ride.
Over the last month, I’ve had the opportunity to spend some time with iOttie’s new Active Edge Bike & Bar Mount, which places an iPhone or Android directly on your handlebars. Head below for my thoughts as well as an exclusive 30% coupon code.

These days it seems that we are trying to make everything smart. Even products that have been around for a long time. Something as simple as a bicycle, which has been around for years, suddenly has all sorts of possibilities once a smartphone is connected to it.
A group of inventors is not attempting to reinvent the wheel, but rather the pedal. They are simply trying to prevent bike theft and make your two wheeled vehicle just a little bit smarter.
TomTom, best known for its GPS driving systems, is announcing its new Bandit Action Camera. Aimed at removing the tedious editing process that comes along with most popular options, you can simply give your smartphone a shake to edit and then share your new video within minutes of shooting it.

On top of around 5 years of additional development, the new iRig will support iOS/Mac devices as well as all Android 5.0 tablets and smartphones.

Now that all the Apple Watch details are laid out for consumers, there is a big choice to be made for those interested in purchasing a timepiece with smart functionality. The Apple Watch will start at $349, with most of our readers electing for a $400 model, although early adoption levels seem to be low. If you’re thinking that a lower priced watch is more appropriate, it looks like you’re not alone. With the Pebble Time making a timely appearance on Kickstarter, many have chosen to back the lower priced option. In fact, following the Apple Watch keynote, Pebble saw a 167% funding increase.
Despite all the new releases and hype, the original Pebble is still capable of getting the job done at a more affordable price.
Tile came out competitively priced at $25 per tracker, but the price hasn’t really budged since its release. You could opt to buy a multi-pack to get a lower per tracker price, but that’s not helpful if you’re just looking to try it out.
Our first documented price drop on a single Tile tracker is your opportunity to get into the game: Amazon is currently charging just $19.99 for one, a drop of 20% from its regular price of $25.
Tile helps you keep track of the things that matter most to you. Attach it to your keys, TV remote, suitcase, iPad and then you’ll be able to keep tabs on the item within a 100 ft. radius. Tile also remembers the last known location of a lost item so you’ll have a helpful starting point in locating lost items outside Tile’s reach. The iOS/Android app supports up to 8 Tiles.
It’s a crowded world for those in the wearable and fitness tracking industry. Now with Apple breathing down the neck of the competition, it is key for these companies to find a way to stand out. Up and comer Atlas is beginning to detail its new Wristband, which offers a number of interesting features. This uniquely designed fitness tracker has one standout feature, the ability to recognize and track different workout activities using a proprietary algorithm. Not just, swimming versus running, but butterfly versus backstroke. Or push-ups versus triangle push-ups.

MicroSD cards pack gigabytes of storage into a space about the size of your fingernail. That’s why it has become the go-to storage choice for most mobile devices. If your phone or computer doesn’t natively support microSD then you’ll need an adapter or USB reader.
ADATA’s microReader may be your new top choice when looking to access data on a microSD card, especially while on-the-go.
We haven’t seen much in the way of major innovation when it comes to surveillance cameras, with Dropcam and Foscam pretty well dominating the space in recent years. Today, we’re seeing something new from Panasonic with its Nubo monitoring camera, which features 4G connectivity and a waterproof design. They proudly proclaim that this is the “world’s first” camera design to lean on a cellular connection instead of WiFi.
It’s chock full of features, head below for full details, pricing and availability.

Just in time for the highly anticipated main console/PC release, today Warner Bros. and developer NeatherRealm have also announced a brand new Mortal Kombat X title coming to mobile platforms. Head below for a closer look in the announcement trailer, plus more details on which characters and gameplay features will be crossing over from the main console title:

Technology has created a much more accessible world, with nearly everything right at our fingertips. The thing is, sometimes we still just want easier access to a button, switch or that USB port in the back of your computer. Satechi has set out to solve this problem with three Bluetooth-enabled buttons meant to interact with a myriad of devices.

Jolly Jam is available now for free on iPhone, iPad and Android devices.
We were absolutely blown away by it during our testing:
The Moto 360 is the best smartwatch you can currently buy. If you’re thinking about buying one, go do it. Don’t look at the other Android Wear devices because they are inferior, at least for the time being.
… It’s a sleek and well-designed smartwatch that brings all the golden features we’ve seen with other solutions in the same space. I’ll continue to wear my Moto 360 until something better comes along, but even then, a smartwatch that looks this slick will be hard to ditch.
It doubles as an activity tracker and features Bluetooth 4.0, a built-in microphone, various sensors, and a stainless-steel case. Hundreds of Amazon reviewers rate it 4.1 out of 5 stars.
