When you think of premium vacuum cleaners, Dyson usually comes to mind. And it’s hard not to think of any other manufacturer. After all, their performance and build quality are among the best in the business. So if you’re in need of the best Dyson vacuum to tackle hair, the Dyson DC65 is the one for you. Or, if you need a vacuum with a bit more power, read our Dyson DC39 multi-floor vacuum 2 too.

Why We Like It – Dyson DC65

The Dyson DC65 Animal Complete vacuum cleaner is the kind of champion you need for big, stressful messes, and that includes pet hair. For the most intense of jobs, you might be better off with our review of the Dyson 360 eye vacuum bolt to hit Japan at a steep price.

Pros
  • Powerful suction
  • Excellent choice if you have pets
  • Easy to use and clean
Cons
  • Not ideal for elderly
  • A bit expensive

Performance

Dyson’s DC65 upright vacuum cleaner is built with radial root cyclone technology, reducing the amount of particles that float about the air when you’re vacuuming. To get 25 percent more power into the bristles, the brush bar has been reconfigured. In turn, the bristles can brush deeper into carpets for a more thorough clean.

Its tangle-free turbine tool is really handy for sucking hair and dirt from upholstery. This is because the cleaner head has counter-rotating heads, but still manages to reach every inch of the tool’s width.

Design

Dyson hasn’t strayed far from its design on vacuums. The Dyson DC65 Animal vacuum uses a canister container with a basic filter. The “ball” near the bottom makes turning the design a breeze. On-board accessories include tangle-free turbine tool, flat out tool, soft dusting brush, multi-angle brush, stiff bristle brush, and a 2-in-1 combination and stair tool.

The biggest downside, more so than its price, is its weight. It’s a hefty 27.1 pounds. For the elderly, this isn’t ideal. For a lightweight vacuum, look to the Dyson V6 Motorhead. It’s only 4.5 pounds.

Value

When you consider how powerful the Dyson DC65 is against tough messes, how deeply it cleans carpets, its strength against hair, and its additional tools, the DC65 has amazing value. It’s a bit on the expensive side, but Dyson isn’t a lightweight with performance, which a family with pets, even one pet (or none), will find invaluable. This is especially true given it’s a complete package rather than just a handheld like the Dyson V6 Trigger.

Dyson DC65 Wrap Up

The Dyson DC65 is a heavyweight champion in cleaning messes, even ones deep in your carpet. While it isn’t ideal for elderly, and expensive, its performance is too good of an offer to pass on, especially if you have pets. After all, Dyson continues to provide quality vacuums both in build quality and performance.
