Nintendo Direct goes live this morning, and it’s going to be a big one folks. Nintendo has not been tight about livestream events in this the year of its new next-generation console, from three major dedicated showcases for its biggest new Switch 2 game releases, as well as an IndieWorld and a Partner Showcase that perhaps seemed worse then they were just because Silksong wasn’t in them. But Silksong has released, and we already have all the details and a release date on the new Kirby Air Riders – today’s show is going to be one of the biggest Nintendo Direct livestreams ever and the first proper showing since Switch 2 barely had a chance to touch down on store shelves before we all scooped them up.  

The first big animated Super Mario Bros. movie was beloved by just about everyone, and a major success for Nintendo. We already know it is officially in the lab on the sequel, or at least the next Mario movie, and with the 40th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. just days away, we could be in for a major reveal. Considering tomorrow will see the biggest and longest proper Nintendo Direct basically ever, that reveal could be happening much sooner than later – right after leaks surfaced suggesting the next Mario movie is headed to the stars.

The next Nintendo Direct went official this morning. After months of rumors of an official, proper Direct showcase, it is finally on the slate. Nintendo has been cranking these things out faster and more frequent than ever since Switch 2 hit store shelves, but they have largely come in the form of dedicated showcases for specific titles and those Direct side quests: IndieWorld and Partner Showcase. This week though, we get the real deal.

It’s actually happening. The rumors were true. Nintendo has now officially confirmed the next Nintendo Direct and it is set to go live this Friday at the usual time.

Apple is revealing all of its “Awe dropping” new gear today and we are at Steve’s Jobs Theater to catch it all in person. The new slate of third-party accessories are bursting at the seams today and Apple have a new lineup of accessories of its own on display today, but the biggest thing in iPhone add-ons is perhaps all of the new 25W Qi2.2 gear. We will be charging our next-gen (or iPhone 16) Apple handsets faster than ever this year and there is already some intriguing new 25W gear surfacing ahead of iPhone 17 reveal day. 

This morning B&H launched a particularly notable discount on the M4 MacBook Pro with 24GB of RAM – it is now sitting at the best price we have tracked with a straight $400 price drop. That deal, however, also sits alongside a higher-end model over at B&H now with the 16-inch M4 Pro stacked with 48GB of RAM seeing the same $400 discount today. 

While we all eagerly await the rumored announcement of the September Nintendo Direct, we are also coming to realize this will be the first month without a single first-party Switch 2 release. Now clearly Hollow Knight: Silksong just broke the internet for a short time when it released last week, the eShop included, and that is frankly more than enough to keep most gamers busy all month long, but there are a host of other third-party games that have already and are still to land in September for Switch and Switch 2. 

After being leaked several months ago, with early renders surfacing online thereafter, LEGO has now officially confirmed the upcoming LEGO Star Trek set(s). Taking to its official Instagram feed this morning, LEGO has posted a short teaser video with a look at what has to be a Captain Picard minifig and text reading Coming Soon in Klingon.

Yesterday as part of its IFA reveals, Anker debuted its new Prime power family. Anker’s IFA showing this year has been rather noteworthy, from AI-powered voice recorders, super new higher-power portable battery solutions, and its new 25W MagSafe charging stand with an onboard display, but it’s new MagGo Prime Wireless Car Charger seems to be slipping under the radar a bit. Bose unveiled its next-gen flagship QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds back in June shortly before we had a chance to test them out for ourselves, but the brand isn’t done yet. Today Bose is ready to reveal its brand-new flagship QuietComfort Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen) with a host of immersive audio upgrades, detection tech, and enhancements across the board. 

As you likely already noticed from our coverage over at 9to5Google and the deals we featured earlier, the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 and S11 Ultra have arrived. The new flagship tablets are now available for purchase straight from Samsung with some notable trade-in discounts that can knock up to $800 off the price of the new tablets alongside as much as $150 in FREE storage upgrades. Google unleashed all of its next-generation gear last month, and there is now less than 48 hours left to take advantage of the deals. We knew Hollow Knight: Silksong was going to be a big deal when it went live this morning on all platforms. But for those folks who were wondering if the launch would crash the Steam servers and break the eShop…the answer is yes. 

This is it folks, the countdown has not only begun but it is about to finally, after nearly a decade of waiting, end – Hollow Knight: Sliksong will be live on all platforms this morning. Perhaps outside of whatever Nintendo eventually released for Switch 2, the most anticipated game of the year is about to go prime time and be available to download across just about any platform you could want it on. 

Remember when the only thing it seemed like robot vacuums couldn’t do was just go up the stairs? The biggest thing in gaming releases soon, very soon. And it’s an indie game. The long-awaited Hollow Knight: Silksong is finally here, or will be in well under 24 hours now, as developer Team Cherry has confirmed the release times for the game alongside the shocking $20 price of entry. 

Today Mophie is unleashing its new premium dual-device charging stand for AirPods Max. The world’s most famous secret agent is set to make a triumphant return in AAA console game form soon, and Sony is set to deliver a lengthy gameplay blowout for the new 007 First Light this afternoon. We have already seen some relatively brief glimpses of gameplay as well as the reveal trailer, but nothing quite like we are in for today.

The previously leaked LEGO SEGA Genesis Controller is official. The brick built gamepad made headlines just over a week ago when low res images were leaked online, but the set has now officially been revealed. 

Nintendo has been on a bit of a roll when it comes to adding to new titles to its classic game libraries for Switch Online members, and the next one has now been revealed. Just after Chibi-Robo! landed in the GameCube library for Switch 2 owners with a membership, it has now announced FORSAKEN 64 for the Nintendo 64 – Nintendo Classics collection. 

Now roughly 48 hours out from one of the most highly-anticipated game releases of the year, Team Cherry has issued a final Kickstarter update on Hollow Knight: Silksong.
