Despite the BeatsX pricing changes at Apple, however, you can still find them for less at various other retailers.

LG G Watch R drops from $299 to $249 following Watch Urbane release

img_0764

Just moments after the LG Watch Urbane became available on the Google Store, the price of LG’s G Watch R has dropped from $299 to $249. As pointed out before, the Watch Urbane is similar to the G Watch R in almost every way except for design. The G Watch R features stainless steel body with a brushed metal finish, while the Watch Urbane features a more high-end look and is available in gold and silver.

The G Watch R features a 1.3-inch OLED display with a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 300 processor and 410mAh battery. It’s also dust resistant and can be immersed in one meter of water for up to 30 minutes.

You can read our thoughts on the G Watch R here and buy it for $249 on the Google Store now. At that price point, it’s a pretty solid deal.

Motorola’s rounded Android Wear offering, the Moto 360, has also received a price cut. The device is down to $179.99 from its initial price point of $249.99. This is the second time recently that Motorola and Google have cut the price of the 360.

Motorola to discount Moto X to $299 for 24 hours on Thursday, May 1 (Reg. $349)

Site default logo image

Screen Shot 2014-04-29 at 4.47.28 PM

Update (5/2 11:15am): The deal is now over from Motorola, but now Amazon has dropped their price down to $299.99 for a 16GB factory unlocked model.

Update (5/1 9:30am): The deal is now live at motorola.com.

Just last week, select Moto X variants started to receive price drops to $349 and $399 for 16GB and 32GB respectively, but now the company is looking to further discount all models of the device. Starting on May 1 at 12:01AM ET and running for 24 hours, the 16GB Moto X will cost just $299. The 32GB and Developer editions will receive an even steeper price cut, from $399 down to $324.99.

It’s unclear how many units Motorola will sell at this price, or if it will simply run the entire day. You also have to keep in mind that Motorola has promised a new flagship by late-Summer. But if you’ve been waiting for your chance to snag one of the best Android smartphones out there, this is your opportunity.

Let’s just hope this sale goes better than Moto’s Cyber Monday catastrophe

HP 11.6″ Chromebook LTE model available from Best Buy for $249 ($30 cheaper than the Wi-Fi model)

Site default logo image

From 9to5Google:

If you’re looking to give Google’s ChromeOS a try, the 11.6″ HP LTE-equiped Chromebook may be your best option right now. The non-LTE version of the Chromebook usually sells for $279, but the LTE model is actually available now for only $249. The connectivity isn’t the only difference between the two, either. The LTE model comes with 16 GB of flash storage while the more expensive, less-capable version uses a standard hard drive of the same size.

Both come with 2 GB of RAM, a 1.7 GHz Samsung Exynos processor, built-in webcam, support for 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, and weigh only 2.3 pounds. Both models are also available in a range of colors. Obviously, the connectivity differs between the two, as the LTE model comes with support for Verizon’s 4G LTE network.

SanDisk unveils first 128GB microSD card, will run $199 (Update: Avail. for $120)

Site default logo image

SanDisk-128GB-MicroSD-XCUpdate (2/26): The official word was that this card would retail for $200, which Best Buy is charging, but Amazon has it listed for $120 with free shipping. It’s currently out of stock but will ship as soon as its available (2-3 weeks) at the discounted rate. Use this adapter to have the microSD card sit flush with your MacBook’s SD card slot.

At Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, SanDisk has just announced a new accessory that will make many Android users very happy. The company has unveiled the world’s first ever 128GB microSD card. More specifically, the card uses the microSDXC standard, meaning that it works with devices only that are compatible with XC, not just the lower-end HC.

SanDisk does note, however, that the card is “designed for Android” and will be fully compatible with many Android devices. In addition to this new 128GB card, SanDisk will also be updating its “Memory Zone” app for Android, which allows users to easily and access files stored on microSD cards. The app also allows users to back up content to it and free-up internal device memory. A new “OptiMem” will automatically transfer older photos on a device to external memory.

The availability of 128GB microSD cards also signals that we could soon start seeing Android devices with 128GB of internal storage. This would be a big upgrade, especially when the operating system on many devices takes up more than 6GB of space.

The 128GB SanDisk microSD card will run $199.99 when it is released. The card will be available exclusively from Amazon and BestBuy.

Site default logo image

moto-x-kitkat-verizon-att-sprint-penny-sale-01

Motorola has just announced via its Twitter account that it will be offering the Moto X without contract for $100 off on January 27th. The deal will apply to any Moto X, meaning that the 16GB will run just $299 and the 32GB will cost $349. The catch, however, is that the deal will only run for one hour and “while supplies last.” The offer will be available from 3PM ET to 4PM ET on the 27th of January.

Motorola also notes that, until Valentine’s Day (February 14th), the Moto X will be available for $70 off, should you miss out on the $100 off offer. That means that the 16GB model will be available for $330 and the 32GB for $380 It looks like that offer will kick in after the $100 off deal sells out on the 27th.

These are certainly amazing deals. Let’s just hope that these sales go better than the Cyber Monday deal the company attempted to hold…

Google offering 25% off select Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 accessories

Site default logo image

Screen Shot 2014-01-21 at 3.35.03 PM

For a limited time only, Google is offering 25% off of select Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 accessories on the Play Store. Unfortunately not every accessory qualifies for the deal, but many of the most popular ones do. The Nexus 7 sleeve, case, and folio are all available for 25% percent off, while the Nexus 5 bumper and QuickCover qualify for the offer.

Of course, even with the 25% discount, all of these accessories are still considerably more expensive than they should be. You can find much better cases and folios, for both the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7, a lot cheaper on Amazon. If you want official, Google/LG made products, however, than this deal is certainly nothing to complain about.

Google drops Nexus 4 price to just $199 for 8GB, $249 for 16GB

Site default logo image

img_6592

Google has just announced that it is cutting the price of its Nexus 4 in Australia, Canada, Germany, Spain, Korea, the United States, and the UK. The device now runs just $199 for 8GB of storage and $249 for 16GB in the United States. Previously, it was priced at $299 for 8GB and $349 for 16GB.

Even though the Nexus 4 was released nearly a year ago, it’s still very solid smartphone, and will continue to get updates directly from Google for a long time to come. The device is powered by a 1.5GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor with 2GB of RAM and an 8MP camera.

Google is expected to announce a new Nexus device sometime this fall, though exact details still remain up in the air. Some rumors point to Motorola manufacturing the device, while others claim that it will be LG again.

At the same price as many phones are on-contract, the $199 off-contract Nexus 4 is a great deal. It’s available on Google Play now and will ship within 1-2 business days, though that may change depending on demand.
