The Asus Chromebook Flip C434 offers you a great amount of power packed into a solid, simple yet elegant design. Powered by Intel Core processors and a Intel UHD Graphics chipset with upto 8GB of RAM, the C434 allows you to work seamlessly with almost little to no lag even during heavy multitasking. And so, apart from its slightly expensive price, the Asus Chromebook Flip C434 stands out as a likely candidate to be the best Chromebook for moderate to power users.

Why We Like It – Asus Chromebook Flip C434

Succeeding its predecessor, the Asus Chromebook C434 brings to you a great chrome os experience with sufficient amount of power and amazing flexibility. With razor thin bezels on the display you now have a slightly larger 14Inch screen. Apart from that, having a long battery life, a great keyboard and touchpad the Asus Chromebook Flip C434 stands out to be one of the best mid range chromebooks.

Pros
  • Great performance
  • Impressive battery life
  • Solid Build
Cons
  • Heavier than its predecessor
  • Slightly expensive

Performance

With the base model starting off with the Intel Core M3-8100Y processor, an Intel UHD Graphics 615 chipset and 4GB of RAM, the Flip C434 surpasses entry level chromebooks with an astounding performance. For a comparison with other entry level chromebooks, take a look at our Asus Chromebook Flip C213Sa Review. Although this model may slow down with slightly extensive multitasking with using android apps and numerous tabs at the same time, with a slight increase in price you can get 8Gb of RAM and upto an Intel Core I7-8500 processor, allowing the Asus Chromebook Flip C434 to perform even better. All while having an impressive battery life of around 10 hours, surpassing both the Asus Chromebook Flip C302 and the HP Chromebook X2.

Moreover, the Asus Chromebook Flip C434 comes with a larger LCD screen of 14 Inches thanks to its super thin bezels. The display itself has a 16:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 1980 x 1080, allowing you to work and view content in full HD. However, for better and more beautiful display quality, check out our Asus Flip C100P Chromebook Review. Making it much better, with the Chromebooks easy 2-in-1 convertible design, the Flip C434ta can be easily switched to either the tent or tablet mode with its sturdy yet flexible hinge.

When it comes to storage, the Flip C434 offers you an initial 64GB or 128GB eMMC SSD depending on which model you buy. However, making it much easier to store more files, you also get a temporary 100GB cloud storage as well as an SD card slot. As for the sound system, you get a decent sound quality and volume, but considering how you might be using a headphone most of the time its isnt much of a drawback.

Design

With a full aluminum body and polished edges, the Asus Chromebook Flip C434 has a simple yet elegant build similar to most premium chromebooks and windows laptops. And with a great backlit keyboard with a good amount of travel and a well sized, responsive touchpad, you get an aesthetic design along with the great performance.

However, as a downside, the Chromebook Flip C434 weighs around 3.2 pounds which is heavier than the Google Pixelbook and its predecessor as well. Paired with dimensions of 0.6 by 12.6 by 8 Inches, the Chromebook Flip is still pretty portable. But, feeling slightly less compact despite having a Core M3 processor, which doesnt require a fan, it might make playing google play games or using the device as a tablet slightly uncomfortable.

On the other hand, the Asus Chromebook Flip C434 does come with a decent amount of port selection. You get 2 USB type-C ports, one USB-A port and a microSD card slot as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack. You wont need dongles to connect USB-A devices, but for legacy connections having one might be handy. But considering its competitors, this is a good amount of port availability.

Value

The Asus Chromebook Flip C434 comes with a good amount of power, a solid and elegant design, and also an impressive battery life. You also have a backlit keyboard which is kind of rare in many chromebooks like the Samsung Chromebook Plus or Samsung Chromebook Plus V2. It surely doesnt reach the Google Pixelbook in terms of performance, but it still offers a great lot for the price. However, considering how many of its competitors, especially those in the Flip line offer many of the same features, in much lightweight builds, the price of the Asus Chromebook Flip C434 is slightly expensive. But with sales, and a slight decrease in price, the Asus Chromebook Flip C434 might just be one of the best midrange chromebooks for you.

Asus Chromebook Flip C434 Wrap Up

Weighing heavier than the Asus Chromebook flip C302, the C434 isnt the most lightweight laptop. Neither does it have the best sound system. And it most certainly doesnt outperform the Google PixelBook. But considering how it has a longer battery life than most chromebooks, with all the power most of us need, a good amount of port selection and the ever rare backlit keyboard packed into a pretty elegant build, the Asus Chromebook Flip C302 is a great chromebook to pick, but that is when the price is right.
