GameStop giving Xbox 360 pre-order titles the Xbox One upgrade treatment for $10

It’s going to be difficult for some gamers to transition to next gen hardware right away, so many of us will opt for 360 versions of upcoming multi-gen games. Some will inevitably regret that decision and wish they went next gen in the first place, but don’t worry GameStop has you covered.

The game retailer has announced some interesting news regarding a new next gen game trade-in program that will allow gamers to trade in Xbox 360 games for the Xbox One version for $10 or less. GameStop PowerUp Rewards members will receive a $50 minimum credit for trading in and purchasing any of the following mutli-gen titles: Assassin’s Creed 4, Battlefield 4, FIFA 14, Madden 25 and Call of Duty: Ghosts.

Keep in mind, the 360 purchase must happen within 30 days of the game’s release date and the credit must be used before the end of that year. GameStop senior VP of merchandising in today’s press release said:

“This is an amazing opportunity for our PowerUp (PUR) members to enjoy their favorite Xbox 360 game until the Xbox One version becomes available…This offer gives PUR members the chance to upgrade their current Xbox 360 game for the new Xbox One standard version of that game for $9.99. This is a great example of how GameStop is helping gamers make the transition to the next generation of consoles economical and seamless.”
