Griffin begins shipping new PowerDock charging station for up to 5 iDevices

Initially unveiled during CES back in January, Griffin is beginning to ship the PowerDock 5.  This compact charging station is built to support up to 5 devices including iPads, iPhones, iPods and really any other USB powered mobile device.  iPad charging stations have traditionally been overkill for most non-corporate environments, but the PowerDock seems like a perfect fit for small businesses or families with about a half of a dozen Apple devices.

Don’t expect a big physical footprint from the PowerDock.  Griffin says it is a bout the size of an iPad and operates on a single power source.  Each bay puts out 10 watts (5 volts DC @ 2.1 amps) of power and can even accommodate devices with protective cases.
