LightCam is a smart light bulb that has been combined with an adjustable 1080p security camera. It lets you keep tabs on any space you have a standard light socket and WiFi. Currently, it’s being funded on Indiegogo and the LightCam has already reached its $22,250 goal almost three times over with 24 days left in its campaign.
LightCam creatively blends a smart security camera together with an adjustable light bulb to help you stay connected and protected. The company behind this new invention combined these two items to eliminate excess wires and the need to drill holes for installation.
Also, it doesn’t require any monthly fees or sacrifice your privacy. The LightCam can adjust to just about any indoor or outdoor light fixture. So even apartment dwellers can have an affordable and simple to use security camera.
All you have to do to set it up quickly and securely is download the app, scan the included QR Code, screw it in, connect it to your Wi-Fi and that’s it. You can also adjust the temperature and color of the light as well as control and set rules for your lighting from your smart phone.
LightCam is a one-of-a-kind light socket and camera combination! It is quick, simple, and hassle free. Just download the app, Scan the QR Code, Screw it in, Connect to Wifi, and Relax!
The LightCam uses very high-end LEDs so the light will most likely last between 15 to 20 years. Additional features include intelligent motion detection, infra-red, 2-way audio, and a very adjustable wide-angle lens that can film in almost any direction.
There’s also free storage included with each of the cameras. It allows you to record about a week of 24/7 footage. The oldest footage automatically gets deleted to make room for new footage. Plus, you can even set your LightCam to automatically back up video to third-party services if you need additional storage.
If you would like your own LightCam, you can pledge $99 or more on the Indiegogo campaign and receive one at 45% off the expected retail value. If all goes as planned, backers will start receiving the LightCam as early as August of this year.
Members of the LightCam team have been successful in raising over $1.5 million on previous crowd funding technology campaigns. We intend to leverage that expertise to help us avoid the pitfalls common to many projects. As with any hardware project, LightCam may run into unexpected delays due to order volume, manufacturing issues, or other unforeseen issues. We will do everything in our power to plan effectively, make good decisions, and most importantly keep you in the loop.
