Tapplock is the ‘world’s first fingerprint padlock’, offers improved security and convenience

Who has time or even the memory to worry about combinations, passwords, or keys these days? There needs to be an easier way to retain security, but also have easier and quicker access for trusted users. Well now there’s a company that claims to have created the “first smart fingerprint padlock.”

The new Tapplock One has the ability to unlock in just 0.8 seconds, plus it will even unlock faster each time you use it thanks to the adaptive algorithm. It’s crafted from a zinc alloy metal and has a cut-resistant 7mm reinforced stainless steel shackle that is virtually unbreakable.

You can store up to 500 fingerprints allowing you to control who can access your lock. You can even quickly grant remote access using Bluetooth. Tapplock allows users to set permanent or limited access with flexible dates and times and you can also revoke access at anytime. For additional security, you can track and monitor access history with time and location data with the Tapplock app.

The newest Tapplock One Plus has in IP67 water proof rating and still stays dry even if left open and unlocked. While it’s safe to use outside in the rain, it’s still has temperature limitations. For instance, it probably isn’t a good idea to use outside on a cold winters day since it only functions between 14 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit.

The state-of-the-art capacitive fingerprint sensor allows unlocking in under 0.8 seconds. It stores up to 500 fingerprints for multiple users. Plus, with an adaptive algorithm, it means the lock becomes faster and more accurate with each access.

There are three ways to unlock it. You can use fingerprint unlocking, Bluetooth unlocking using your smartphone, or as a backup you can even use Morse-Code unlocking by pressing long and short combinations on the power button.

The battery in each lock is good to last up to a year (which equates to around 3,500 unlocks) on a single two-hour charge. You can find the new locks with limited quantities available in black, silver or gunmetal for $99 on Tapplock’s website.
