Codey Rocky is the newest coding companion robot your kids will love

We’ve seen our share of coding bots for kids, but this is the first one we would actually take home to our families. With an intuitive design and easy to use controls, it looks like this robot will not only teach kids how to code, but help them enjoy the process too. Codey Rocky is currently being funded on Kickstarter, and with more than a month to go in its campaign the company has already reached is fundraising goal of $100,000.

Codey Rocky can teach your kids all kinds of useful STEM related content. It’s an easy to use robot that features graphical programming to help kids explore their creative side. This system allows young children to take their first steps into the world of coding and compose their first “Hello World!” statement. It’s recommended for kids 6 years and up.

Actually, the Codey Rocky is two robots in one. ‘Codey’ is the detachable controller that kids can use to input information and control the games. It has more than ten electronic modules that can be controlled using different codes.

‘Rocky’ is the car that lets your kids take Codey anywhere they want. It allows your kids to write ingenious programs that can be run anywhere they wish. Codey also has a built-in 6-axis gyroscope so that your kids can control the games they design by moving or tilting the controller.

Kids also get more than 20 learning guides for getting started with graphical programming and even Python style code. Soon enough they will be ready to take on the advanced Python language. By that time they’ll be able to simply convert their code with one click.

Codey Rocky is designed to be compatible with Makeblock Neuron and LEGO bricks, so your child has even more opportunities to bring ideas to life.

You can pick up Codey Rocky with a pledge of $79 or more from its Kickstarter campaign, which is $20 off the expected retail value. If all goes as planned, Codey Rocky will ship to backers in April of 2018.
