Sculpto+ is a compact, iPhone-connected 3D Printer made for anyone to use

3D printers are by far the most exciting new way to develop your ideas from scratch and have them come to life in physical form. Although, unless you’re an engineer they’re not always the most user-friendly devices for beginners. Currently being funded on Kickstarter, the Sculpto+ 3D Printer claims to be the easiest and most versatile printer made to date for anyone to use.

The Sculpto+ is the second generation of 3D printers to return to Kickstarter and is developed by a startup based in Denmark. It only weighs 2.7KG (nearly 6lbs.) and is about the size of a typical coffee maker, but make no mistake, this 3D printer can tackle a volume of up to 5 liters and is priced far below comparable printers. You can print objects the size of a soccer ball and because of its small footprint you can move it easily around the house to print wherever you like.

The company listened to user feedback from the first model and developed this one to be ultra quiet when printing. You can typically only hear the fan running during the print process. With the Sculpto app you are able to adjust the printing time and resolution easily and effectively based on your needs. Even if you don’t fine tune the settings, the Sculpto+ is guaranteed to deliver high quality 3D prints right out of the box with its automated software, according to its creators.

Sculpto+ is a compact desktop 3D printer and app-based software that makes 3D printing more accessible than ever before.

The team behind the Sculpto+ also has a library of models that are available for free to anyone. The app is already available on Google Play and the App Store and has many new features for beginners to professionals. They also promise many new updates, features and models as time goes on. You’re also not limited to just what you can find in the library, the Sculpto+ lets you print all of your own designs as well. Anything you’ve created in a 3D modeling program you can import using an .STL file and then the “cloud-based slicer” will then prepare it for printing.

With 20 days left in its campaign, the Sculpto+ has already raised over $120,000 and has far surpassed its goal of $32,000. If you want one of your own you can get in on the early bird special with a pledge of $383. Shipping to backers is expected to begin in November of this year.
