E3 2017 has been very exciting this year. Xbox One X with 4K and HDR is now a thing, we have seen some major game announcements including a brand new Bioware title and the cinematic prison break experience: No Way Out. Bethesda was nothing but games late last night and now it’s on to the last major publisher event ahead of the big Sony showcase this evening.
Ubisoft put on a shorter and slightly more succinct presentation this year, but it was full of games including a new Nintendo cross-over and some very big surprises:
Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle
Ok so that wacky Rabbids Mario crossover is a real thing, believe it or not. The man himself, Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto took the stage to introduce the new game. And in true Miyamoto-san fashion with a life-size replica of a weapon from the game. The entrance was about as awkward as it was charming.
Nonetheless, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle has been in development for more than 3-years and is exclusive to the Nintendo Switch. The Rabbids have been teleported into the Mushroom Kingdom, causing unbalance to the world, and Mario and his new Rabbid friends have to save the day once again. It is a turn-based tactical adventure game where players will take on groups of enemies in smaller arenas. There also appears to some RPG systems and customizable party building mechanics involved as well. Mario, Yoshi, Princess and Rabbid versions there of all make an appearance, including a massive Rabid Donkey Kong!
You can catch a good long glimpse of gameplay in the E3 demo above. It will release on August 29th, 2017.

Assassin’s Creed: Origins
We got another good look of the new Assassin’s Creed: Origins, after it officially debuted at the Microsoft showcase. This time around it was a cinematic trailer showing off the ancient Egypt setting, wildlife and more.
South Park: The Fractured But Whole
South Park: The Fractured But Whole got a brand new trailer during the event showing off a little bit more of the story. And it is dropping on October 17th.
Transference
Transference appears to be some kind of psychological horror game, likely set entirely in VR and completely terrifying.
The Crew 2
The Crew 2 will feature all sorts of motorized vehicles this time around including cars, off-road vehicles, boats, planes, bikes and more. You can register for beta that will kick off starting next month.
Skull & Bones
This brand new pirate game comes from Ubisoft Singapore, the team partially responsible for Black Flag. This is a tactical action game with pirate ship battles at the core of the experience. It is a systemic world that can be explored solo or in crews (multiplayer). Skull & Bones is basically a pirate PvP game. If you enjoyed the pirate ship and open-sea battles of Black Flag, this one is for you.
And here’s some multiplayer gameplay footage:
It releases Fall 2018 on all major platforms.
South Park Phone Destroyer
South Park is getting its very first proper iOS game this summer. It appears to follow a similar format as the console releases with a turn-based battle system and cinematics that look like they could be lifted right from an episode. Details are light so far but South Park Phone Destroyer will hit the App Store sometime in 2017.
South Park: Phone DestroyerTM brings you iconic South Park characters, action packed real-time strategy, exploding PvP battles, trademark South Park humor and collectible cards in a perfect mix that’s spicier than Cartman’s chili con carne.
South Park Phone Destroyer release in 2017 for iOS.
Far Cry 5
We got another look and more details on Far Cry 5 with a nice chunck of gameplay footage. There are definitely dog companions (his name is Boomer). We get to see a good look at a few of your resistance members including sniper Grace Armstrong. And yes this is a quite gory and violent trailer, you have been warned. You can read all about the initial drop right here and take a look at the new footage above.
Beyond Good and Evil 2
Beyond Good and Evil 2 is a real thing!!! The story takes place before the birth of Jade in a distant star system. This prequel is certainly one of the biggest surprises for me of the entire show so far. While there is still no release date, this is very exciting news!
Other notables were the new Crew 2, Just Dance 2018 is dropping this October for all consoles and the new Star Link Battle for Atlas IP is coming in 2018.
