AOC’s newest 16-inch 1080P IPS USB-powered displays ultra-thin and portable

Today AOC introduced a new 16-inch USB powered 1080p IPS monitor that can easily switch between landscape and portrait mode. It’s also very slim, lightweight and easy to carry around. Because of its small footprint you can use it as a second monitor or as a temporary display for powerpoint presentations for school or work.

What sets this monitor apart from most of the other portable options out there is that it receives both power and signal from a single USB cable for a true plug-and-play connection. It actually doesn’t need a dedicated power cord or VGA cable to connect, just one USB cable connection to power and send the signal.

The new monitor also has a foldable flexi-stand that gives it maximum flexibility for portrait or landscape positioning. This AOC monitor has a very unique auto-pivot feature that automatically adjusts the image according to the display’s orientation, so you’ll never have to change settings as you switch between landscape and portrait mode.

Many users will be happy to know that it is VESA 75 x 75mm compliant, which lets you to easily mount the USB monitor to any VESA compatible mount. You even have the ability to connect multiple USB monitors to a single laptop or desktop computer to function as a multi-monitor machine, due to the built-in DisplayLink technology.

IPS Panel technology in a nut shell just gives you wider viewing angles without loss of image or color quality. So basically, you’re getting 160/160 degree viewing angles while maintaining consistent picture quality and colors from all viewing positions. This IPS panel has true 8-bit color depth that gives you in better color accuracy. The screen itself has a matte anti-glare finish that won’t leave fingerprints or smudges. This type of monitor is great for graphic designing, video editing, photo retouching, and even gaming. You can also view your spreadsheets or weekend movies from virtually any angle without compromising color quality.

This AOC 16-inch monitor will be available at Amazon for $149.99 shipped (that’s $50 off the original MSRP). The USB monitor will launch on May 12 and is available for pre-order now from Amazon.
