Smart home products and robust app stores have brought on a variety of changes in our lives over the last five years. A byproduct of that innovation is the myriad of devices, developer kits and data points that are constantly pinging us. Apple has attempted to curb some of this (at times painful) experience with HomeKit. However, that is primarily focused on hardware functionality. The reality is that we still have all of this information, which leads us to constantly checking our devices for updates.
SeeNote is a new product from a company called MoonRoof that takes the classic sticky note and transforms it into a digital hub for your life. Amazon Echo has management skills but it is based around auditory cues. SeeNote differs with its customizable and interactive e-ink visual display that puts much of your life in one place. More below.
The premise behind SeeNote is fairly simple. Digitize the classic StickyNote into a one-stop customizable command center for your life. It can collect data points from a variety of different mediums including your iOS or Android device, IFTTT, Google Maps and select smart home systems. The display itself can be tweaked to show multiple lines of information plus it is interactive so you can place shortcuts to certain tasks. For example, turning off your lights or even ordering a pizza.
A free iOS/Android app acts as the central brain for set up and customizing. It has a Wi-Fi radio built-in and can communicate with the cloud to transfer you settings and information. A soft ring illuminates the backside of the device and glows when a new notification comes in. There is a 3M mount included while the display itself is magnetized. That means you can place SeeNote by your front door, on a nightstand or mount it to the refrigerator.

Because it has a user-specific design, you’ll be able to put whatever information you deem most important. Transit times, calendar events and weather are a few of the widgets that are most likely to be popular. Additionally, you can use SeeNote to leave messages for family or roommates via the app or SMS/email. The built-in battery provides up to one month of usage on a single charge.
MoonRoof is currently accepting pre-orders for SeeNote at a discounted price of $99 (Reg. $129). It is slated to ship next Spring. If you’re in need of a similar type of product, be sure to check out Triby, the first non-Amazon device that supports Alexa voice commands.
