Today, August upgraded its line of smart home products. While the new version sports HomeKit compatibility, the previous generation Bluetooth-enabled model is still a great buy. It was the beneficiary of a price drop at Amazon today, down to $199 shipped from its regular $250. Today’s deal is 20% off the original price, $4 better than our previous mention and the lowest that Amazon has ever sold it for.

We previously reviewed the original August Smart Lock and found it to add a number of worthwhile features to a standard front door. It is powered by four AA batteries and connects with iOS/Android devices via Bluetooth. The August Smart Lock senses when you arrive at home and automatically unlocks the door. It is available in four different colors: Champagne, Dark Gray, Red and Silver.

Need HomeKit compatibility? The new model is available for pre-order with a $229 price tag.
