V-MODA’s popular and highly rated Crossfade M-100 series headphones are getting an upgrade with what the company calls “the end of ubiquity.” It is now offering 3D printed steel, aluminum and “precious metal” ear plates that can be fully customized with laser engraving.
Head below to find out more about “the world’s first jewel-grade 3D printing fused with consumer electronics”:
Already known for great sound and a very solid build, the M-100s just got a lot more premium with the addition of the new ear cup plates and customized engraving. V-MODA has a complete customization suite available for customers on its site where you can choose everything from ear-cup type and the color of screws used, to headband materials, and of course the new steel and precious metal ear plates:
A basic set will run you around $250 (unless you scooped up one of our amazing sale prices), but the new options go way up from there. The basic steel plates will bring your total up to $400, bronze brings it up to $600, gold plated is $900 and 14K gold is $9,000 (and match your Apple Watch Edition just nice). Or if that’s not a precious enough metal for you, grab the platinum pair for $27,000. All in all, the headphones can range from $250 all the way up to the decked out $40,000 platinum set.
From there, you can choose to leave the plates clean, add preset logos courtesy of V-MODA, 3D designs like studs or even upload your very own image. While some of the prices are beyond ridiculous, the customized 3D designs and some of the more affordable metals certainly make these cans standout more than they already did, and will likely be desirable to V-MODA fans. Head over to the official site now to start designing your own pair.
