Sony officially announces major hour-long State of Play for this week

Sony has now taken to the official PlayStation Blog to officially announce the next State of Play game showcase, and it sounds like it’s going to be a big one.

Next State of Play goes live this week – updates and announcements on upcoming PS5 games

It has been a minute since Sony hosted a proper, full-on State of Play but it is now ready to give gamers a look at what’s to come on PS5 this year.

Unlike some of the trimmed down State of Play livestream showcases we see throughout the year, Sony is kicking 2026 off with a bang here, announcing a complete broadcast set to run for over an hour. Not only will we get “news, gameplay updates, and announcements” on games from across the globe, but it has also confirmed the show will include “eye-catching third-party and indie games headed to PS5” alongside what sounds like some big first-party titles from “teams at PlayStation Studios.”

Tune in live this Thursday for 60+ minutes of news, gameplay updates, and announcements from game studios across the globe. February’s State of Play will spotlight eye-catching third-party and indie games headed to PS5, along with the latest from teams at PlayStation Studios.

We will of course be here to watch the show along with you when it goes live this Thursday on February 12, 2026 at 2 p.m. P/5 p.m. ET.
