It’s coming down off its $600 price tag here, which we’ve seen regularly dropping to $455 and the $450 low since July’s Prime Day event. The Gotrax Eclipse e-scooter is a solid option for folks looking for a commuter for around their neighborhood, college town, or similar needs, with the 36V 12Ah battery even providing a range of up to 28 miles on each charge, beating out competitors like the Segway E2 Pro scooter that sits $50 higher in price and offers up to 24.9 miles of travel (though it does offer smarter features like Apple Find My inclusion). It is worth noting, however, that the Eclipse does bring along an electric code lock so that no one can power it on without a password.
The 500W motor provides enough power for a 14% climbing ability, while also having two different modes: a 15.5 MPH mode and a 20 MPH full speed mode (which reduces travel mileage). The frame is supported by a front double suspension, as well as 10-inch honeycomb tires that reduce concerns of being punctured.
