Free digital copy of Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph movie

Disney is celebrating the expansion of its Movies Anywhere service by making Wreck-It Ralph available for free.

You must create a free Disney Movies Anywhere account and then proceed to login to the service via the mobile app or website. Once logged in, you will be prompted to sync your account with iTunes and/or Google Play. To get access to Wreck-It Ralph for free you must at least sync your Disney Movies Anywhere account with Google. This offer is only available for a limited time.

And oh, I’ve met Ralph so I can say without hesitation that he is NOT a bad guy

Synopsis:

From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes a hilarious, arcade-game-hopping journey in Disney’s “Wreck-It Ralph.” For decades, Ralph has played the bad guy in his popular video game. In a bold move, he embarks on an action-packed adventure and sets out to prove to everyone that he is a true hero with a big heart. As he explores exciting new worlds, he teams up with some unlikely new friends including feisty misfit Vanellope von Schweetz. Then, when an evil enemy threatens their world, Ralph realizes he holds the fate of the entire arcade in his massive hands. (C) 2012 Disney

It says I’m not eligible to register… 🙁

Only works for US citizens.. Same restrictions for all their offers.. Disney has no interest in giving offers to other countries it seems.

Got it! This was easy, sign in, link my iTunes account, and it magically appeared in my iTunes. Thanks!

I can confirm you can get this free for if you are ios only as long as you have a gmail. I did this all on my iPhone in safari in a few minutes.

Go to google play website and create account (you will use your gmail name and password as you would for all Google services).

Then go to the Disney anywhere website, once I logged in I was prompted to link my google play account. (You can also go into settings>accounts where your iTunes account is also linked).

Linking will send you over to google play to confirm and TA DA, wreck it Ralph was in “my collection”

    Enjoy

I was hoping that a copy would download into my iTunes. So even though accounts are linked, I still have to go to Disney’s website to watch it?

This only applies to new registrations not those who currently have an account unfortunately.

Did you try to connect your existing DMA account with Google Play? There should be no issues trying to do that.

Mac based here.. I have touched my google play account since I dropped android. I use iTunes… and I already have things connected to disney anywhere .. I guess I could try and connect it to my google play account and see if it “circumvents” the new sign up requirement.

It should work as long as you sync any Google account (even Gmail) to your DMA. Give it a shot and please let me know.

So. Connecting to my Google play account successfully got me a copy of Wreck it Ralph. Thanks for the suggestion!

BOOM! Enjoy, it’s such a great movie.

That is what I thought as well since I already had my iTunes account linked to the Disney app (for a free copy of The Incredibles that they gave away previously). When I tried to add “Wreck It Ralph”, it didn’t work.

However, when I chose (from my iPad) to link to Google Play and entered my google account info (I don’t even have a Google Play account that I know of), it added the movie to both the Disney App and also to my iTunes account!!!

Glad to hear you’re all set, now! Enjoy the movie!

Not true, I already had an account and just connected my google play. I got the movie.
