It seems as though retailers are becoming more and more vague about what the actual deals will be come Black Friday in ads and early marketing materials. That said, some retailers still subscribe to the old school way of doing things and actually dish up specific prices on upcoming deals, and even the exact date they will go live. Costco is, to some degree, one of these retailers and it is already teasing a notable upcoming PlayStation 5 deal.
Upcoming PlayStation 5 Black Friday 2025 deal
The console game, be it because of scarcity or, more recently, the treacherous price hikes, hasn’t exactly been the most generous when it comes to consumers. Fortunately, most folks who want a PS5 got one a long while ago before the price jumps, but if you are going to be in the market for one this year, Costco is already advertising one of the better discounts we have tracked in a while, and we know exactly when it will go live.
Right now GameStop is offering a notable PS5 console discount of its own bundled with $360 worth of essentially FREE PS Plus Premium subscription at $170 off the original list price. But that offer is for the thicker launch PS5 – Costco’s Black Friday PlayStation 5 deal is for the newer slim model.
Starting on November 21, as part of the early Costco Black Friday sale, the Sony Playstation 5 Slim Disc Console bundled with a pair of DualSense Controllers will be on sale for $479.99 shipped – that’s $120 off the $600 list price at Costco.

As a quick reminder, this is where PS5 official pricing sits after the recent price hikes in the U.S. – you’re getting the latest disc version PS5 with an extra controller at $70 less than the price of the PS5 without one:
- PlayStation 5 – $549.99
- PlayStation 5 Digital Edition – $499.99
- PlayStation 5 Pro – $699 right now, rising to $749.99
The rub here would have to be that you’ll already need to be a Costco member to take advantage of this deal when it goes live later next month. However, there is a chance the very fact that Costco is offering a deal like this could prompt other retailers to get aggressive with PS5 pricing, or at least price match.
It looks like 2025 might be the first Black Friday season in a little while that will actually see some notable console deals. I wouldn’t bet on a Switch 2 deal, but we will have to see what Nintendo has up its sleeve this year for the holiday bundle – it has one every year and it should get revealed any day now.
