It’s now official, Nintendo Direct is going live again this week with the first major Switch 2 showcase since it released in June. This is, of course, outside of the dedicated Mario Kart 8 stream and the particularly exciting Donkey Kong Bananza Direct, but this week we are in for a more traditional Switch 2 Direct that is set to showcase plenty of upcoming titles and hopefully some major surprises too.
Nintendo has now officially announced the next Nintendo Direct livestream and it is set to go live tomorrow in its usual time slot at 6 a.m. PT/9 a.m. ET across all of its official channels.
Nintendo is, as per usual, keeping the details under wraps as far what will actually be on display this week, but rumors and relatively reliable leakers have already given us what appears to be a pretty solid idea of what to expect – the only thing we know so far is that this is a Partner Showcase:

I think everyone is more or less assuming will get confirmation on Switch 2 versions for a host of third-party games that have already released on other platforms. These include everything from a host of Activision and Ubisoft titles, like Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Mirage, as well as a potential Red Dead Redemption 2 port and maybe even Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.
Microsoft has already gone on record saying it wants to support the next-generation Nintendo system with rumors floating around for more than a few months mentioning titles like Fallout 4, Starfield, Hi-Fi Rush, Microsoft Flight Simulator, and Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
And let’s not forget about the Death Stranding: Director’s Cut rumors as well as release dates for Elden Ring and the Final Fantasy VII remake – Gearbox already officially announced the Borderlands 4 Switch release date.
But even though Nintendo is specifically mentioning its “publishing partners”, Nintendo’s own titles will surely catch some spotlight at the Direct…won’t they? We hope so too.
Just about everyone assumes the Metroid Prime 4: Beyond release date will get announced, alongside Kirby Air Riders as well.
Perhaps the biggest rumor is the new Animal Crossing Switch 2 game – some of the rather reliable leakers have already stated the reveal, and potentially quite brief teaser, for the new Animal Crossing game will indeed cap of the show. It feels as though an all-new Mario entry and something from the Zelda franchise might be wishful thinking at best, but a Switch 2 Animal Crossing teaser has already been making the rounds and its been a long while since we have heard about anything particularly new and interesting from the franchise.
Either way, it won’t be much longer until we find out for sure. See ya there!
