Velotric launches new Triker with SensorSwap tech, Apple Find My, and much more for a balanced and comfortable experience

Velotric is launching a new commuting solution for seniors and riders who are looking for a more relaxing experience with its Triker, a three-wheeled e-bike that keeps comfort, safety, and reliability at the forefront of its design. On top of these key factors, the brand is also bringing smart capabilities to its performance, which we’ve been seeing more and more of lately with each new model that has been released over the last year. Below, you can learn all about what to expect on this new model alongside pricing information and pictures.

Velotric has built quite a reputation in the e-bike world, holding its own against larger brands like Lectric, Rad Power, Aventon, and more, with the new Triker being a step in a direction that its other models haven’t necessarily touched yet. As previously mentioned, Velotric’s focus here is on senior riders and those with limited mobility who are looking for a reliable and stable means to get around without hopping into a car.

Things start with the three-wheel design, which has been a growing favorite for many riders across multiple brands who have felt left out by the typical two-wheeled rides and want something they can safely cruise along with at their own pace. This new frame design allows for a more stable geometry, keeping its center of gravity at a lower point, while each rear wheel can turn independently from the other, “effectively reducing common risks associated with riding,” and the front hydraulic suspension fork smooths out paths along bumpier or uneven surfaces.

There’s a 750W rear hub motor (peaking at 1,300W) that can produce 90Nm of torque paired alongside an IPX7-rated 16.75Ah battery (while the bike sports an IPX6 construction) to provide up to an adjustable 20 MPH top speed for up to 60 miles on a single charge with its five PAS levels activated. Of course, the key word with its performance is “adjustable,” as the motor defaults to a max 12 MPH speed until the settings have been adjusted on its 3.5-inch full color Bluetooth display or via the companion app. There’s also the option to use only the removable throttle for pure electric riding, which the brand claims to last for up to 50 miles, though we usually see travel ranges around half the length of pedal-assisted riding.

Like many alternative e-Trikes on the market, this new model brings a beginner mode into the mix that new or uneasy riders can use to limit speeds to 8 MPH until you’re more comfortable, as well as a walk mode that lets you push it along with assistance up to 2 MPH. These are a lot handier than you’d think (especially if you’re a younger, able-bodied rider who has never considered physical limitations getting in the way of riding), helping to maintain confidence and control.

Like some of its other new releases, this model is also being given the brand’s SensorSwap tech, allowing you to switch between a cadence or torque sensor as you please, which dials up the control you’ll have over its performance while also expanding its flexibility while in motion over ever-changing terrains.

It’s always a good day when new models bring smart features to their ride too, and Velotric is following the trend of its latest releases by continuing those features on the new Triker. The biggest of these inclusions is Apple Find My integration, which gives you some peace of mind in case of theft (or your own forgetfulness), as well as Apple Health, and the previously mentioned adjustable performance features.

Aside from all those, you’ll also find features like the 20-inch by 3-inch puncture-resistant Kenda tires with fenders over each, an LED headlight with an integrated electric horn, a taillight that’s integrated into the rear cargo rack (and sports brake lighting, flash modes, and turn signals), a 7-speed Shimano derailleur, hydraulic disc brakes, a foldable handlebar stem, a wide saddle with a backrest, and the compatibility to add further accessories that are sold separately.

Velotric is launching its all-new Triker today carrying a $2,399 price tag, which you can only find directly from its website here. And for a short time, purchasing the Triker with accessories and hitting a $2,500 threshold scores you a free Soundcore Boom 3i Speaker.
