Switch 2 gamers can now play some Wild Hearts S for FREE before release this Friday

As detailed in our recent rundown of the best games releasing for Switch 2 this summer and beyond, Wild Hearts S is set to land on Nintendo’s latest console this upcoming Friday on July 25. While more than a few Switch 2 gamers are still busy making their way to the center of the earth in the critically acclaimed Donkey Kong Bananza, publisher Koei Tecmo has now released a FREE demo of Wild Hearts S so Switch 2 gamers can give it a run through before release later this week.

The Switch 2 version of Wild Hearts might not be at the top of everyone’s list at this point, but I think it delivers an intriguing Monster Hunter-like experience with a few interesting mechanics up its sleeve and some gorgeous art direction. It is well worth a quick download if you’re looking for a fun diversion on a Sunday afternoon if you ask me.

The demo version of the game allows gamers to play through the prologue section of the game up until Minato – a “thrilling hunting experience awaits as you encounter powerful beasts like Ragetail, Sapscourge and Kingtusk.” According to the official details on the demo experience, it supports multiplayer (online/local) “to enjoy co-op not only with others playing the demo, but also with those playing the full release version.”

Online play with owners of the full game version is restricted to the content available in the demo version. Nintendo Switch Online membership (sold separately) required for online play. The availability of the demo is subject to change without notice.

It clocks in at 24GB and is now available to download straight from the eShop in the U.S.

Here are some additional notes on the demo from Koei Tecmo:

  • With the demo version, you can play the earlier portions of the story.
  • Some elements of the demo version may differ from the full version of the game.
  • The save data can be transferred to the full version of the game.
  • In order to carry over save data from the demo version to the full version, the save data must be stored on the same console as the one you use to play the full version, and you must use the same account for both the demo and full versions.
  • Please update to the latest version when carrying over save data to the full version.
  • The content in the demo version supports multiplayer via online or local communication. Both the demo version and the full version of the game can be connected to.
  • Please visit the official website for more details.
  • Distribution of the demo may end without prior notice.
