Amazon is now offering the first deal on the new Twelve South PowerCord accessory starting from $34.76 with free shipping for Prime members or in orders over $35. While not the deepest of price drops, this regularly $40 charging accessory is now approaching 15% off and catching a deal on a Twelve South release this new doesn’t come around all too often.

We have seen a few very slight drops on these new charging cables since they debuted in mid-May, but nothing worth considering (or featuring around here). That said, if you are looking to land one of these all-in-one cables in the early days, you are looking at the very best prices we have seen to date.

While at first glance, you might say to yourself: Isn’t this just a regular USB-C cable that’s permanently attached to a wall charger you can’t use for anything else? And the answer to that is yes, but that’s also the point here.

Firstly, this is a very high-end USB-C cable attached to a wall charger, with nice woven treatment, a slightly flattened lead, and one that is very easy to handle (it doesn’t tangle up at all). It also includes a nice red cable tie with a classy silvered button clasp.

Secondly, the simplicity and all-in-one nature of the cable is very much exactly what the brand was going for. It’s a simple pick up and go type charging solution – everything you need to pull power from any outlet ready in a single device, with a more premium build and look than just about any separate combination of USB-C cable and wall charger.

Do you need it? Probably not – everyone has a million wall chargers and cables laying around by now. But you will probably want it – I sort of wrote it off when it first landed in the gadgetnewsonline offices, but I have already reached for it several times to power up a friend’s smartphone and for temporary iPad juice while away from my usual setup instead of trying to lock down a free USB-C port on a wall charger already installed, and then scouring for an extra cable. I also like the idea of using as a permanent solution where you only need a single-simple USB-C jack – it looks much nicer than some ugly wall charger setup to me.
