One of the most highly-anticipated PlayStation 5 releases of the year is going live tonight as Sony is set to host a State of Play dedicated to Ghost of Yōtei. We have seen a few looks at the game thus far, mostly a trailer form, but this afternoon Sony is promising a lengthy gameplay deep dive to give us a proper look at the new open world ninja/samurai experience ahead of launch this fall. Ghost of Yōtei State of Play
Ghost of Yōtei is the follow up to Ghost of Tsushima – one of the most beautiful open-world games ever made in my opinion. Sucker Punch’s next journey into feudal Japan is set to release this fall on October 2 and we will finally take a deep dive into the actual gameplay today with what sounds a lot like a guided tour of the game’s setting, combat mechanics, and exploration.
Today’s showcase comes on the heels of “The Onryō’s List” trailer detailing the gang of outlaws known as the Yōtei Six – The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Spider, The Dragon, and Lord Saito – and will hopefully gift us a better idea of how weill be tracking them down and taking them out.
Today’s dedicated Ghost of Yōtei State of Play showcase is set to go live very soon at 2 p.m. PT/5 p.m. ET and you can watch it with us below – expect 20 straight minutes of “Ghost of Yōtei gameplay hosted by Sucker Punch’s Creative Directors,.”
