The rumors were true. It’s not the Switch 2 Direct we are all waiting for but Nintendo’s has decided it will host a new Direct presentation to focus on 30 minutes of new Switch games this week too. The whole thing kicks off tomorrow morning and we have all of the details for you down below.
New Nintendo Direct goes live tomorrow – 30 minutes of upcoming Switch games
We all know about the big-time, event of the year Switch 2 Direct set to take place on April 2 – we have, after all, been counting down with special feature posts all week already, and all of the details and start time information you need on that are right here. But Nintendo has decided it would double down with a special presentation dedicated towards “Switch games” this week as well – that’s two full-on Nintendo Direct presentations in the span of a week.
While, just like us, you were likely hoping to see something on Switch 2 earlier than expected, it very much sounds like you definitely won’t be, as Nintendo has said as much as part of today’s announcement:
There will be no updates about Nintendo Switch 2 during this presentation.
The presentation will start at 7 a.m. PT/10 a.m. ET tomorrow, March 27, 2025.
So what’s going to be in this week’s Nintendo Direct? Well, Switch games of course. Nintendo has confirmed that this week’s Direct presentation will not include updates on Switch 2 but rather 30 straight minutes of upcoming games for Nintendo Switch.
That said, we all know Nintendo has already confirmed Switch 2 will be backwards compatible with Switch games, so we are effectively going to see some upcoming games we will almost certainly be able to play on Switch 2, albeit just not Switch 2 exclusives by the sounds of it.
Either way, it’s the week of Nintendo and we are stoked!
