Spigen’s new miniature EDC carrier doubles as a MagSafe iPhone backpack
The Snapzip MagSafe Pouch is very much what it sounds like – a miniature EDC carrier that also happens to feature MagSafe so you can snap it to the back of your iPhone.
Now, if you’re anything like me you already hate the idea of having a giant wallet hanging of the back of your handset, and this is even bigger than those TinTap lockable wallets we just recently reviewed from the brand. However, the Snapzip iPhone backpack has some other use cases that has me at least mildly intrigued here.
Before we get into that though, let’s take a look at some details of the actual pouch here first. Made of a “durable” ripstop nylon, you’ll find a 2-way zipper “added sturdiness and ease of use” alongside a non-slip silicone backing for a more stable MagSafe attachment.
Spigen notes the mini backpack’s ample storage, despite is ultra-compact size (at least as far as EDC organizer pouches go anyway), suggesting its main compartment can house SSDs, cards, and cables, while the front pocket is large enough or your AirPods case, and the side spandex pocket is great for lip balm, lipstick, and presumably small flash drives and the like.
But how can you possibly carry your phone with this thing attached to the back of it? Well I won’t be for sure, but Spigen has implemented a multi-use strap of sorts that you can wrap around the back of your hand while the Snapzip is attached to an iPhone magnetically.
Either way it seems an odd choice for a MagSafe device, but if I think about it the other way around, perhaps not so much. If I consider this a miniature EDC pouch that just happens to also have a magnetic attachment, it seems far more useful – you can clip it to an actual backpack while traveling or hiking, organize smaller accessories within a larger carrier, and other things of this nature.
It’s certainly not for everyone either way, but it is an arguably unique addition to the growing pantheon of MagSafe accessories out there.
