Review: Six months later, I bought two more ECOVACS DEEBOT T30S robot vacuums because they are that good [Deal]

$300 off

When I reviewed the ECOVACS DEEBOT T30S Combo about six months ago, I had no idea how much I would grow to love it. Having used several different models and brands, there was always something to complain about with each one. Throughout all of my other robot vacuum adventures, one has reigned supreme, and that’s the ECOVACS DEEBOT T30S. So when the day finally came and some head-turning sale prices arrived, I purchased two more so I could have one on each level of my home. Continue reading to find out why I think this model is so great.

LiDAR

If you’ve used a robot vacuum before, you know just how clumsy they can be. Often they will cruise right into something at full speed, which can be funny to watch, but also very distracting. While the ECOVACS DEEBOT T30S isn’t perfect, built-in LiDAR has been a game changer. Most of the time it will detect that something is going to be in its way several seconds in advance and course correct without missing a beat. Other models I’ve used will run into something over and over, gradually adjusting their course until they make it around.

All-in-One Design

When I first reviewed the T30S, I received the Combo model and got the floor attachment later on down the line. The fact that you have an option to buy a solid robot vacuum that also bundles a hand and floor vacuum really appeals to me. It’s nice to keep everything charged and in one place. The hand vacuum is also incredibly powerful too, even better than the Dyson V8 that I’ve been using for several years now.

Reliable Mopping

If you’re new to the robot vacuum space, you may not realize that mopping pads need to be lifted or else they will entirely skip areas with carpet. A lot of the cheaper robot vacuums with a mop will often leave out this feature. Thankfully, the ECOVACS T30S passes this test with flying colors. Mopping pads automatically lift when it detects carpet and the feature has been flawless. Unlike more basic robot vacuums, the mopping pads actually spin on this unit, allowing it to truly scrub the floor as it goes.

Siri Shortcuts

Once I got all three vacuums set up in my home (we call it Hamilton), I immediately set up Siri Shortcuts. This allows me to use the Shortcuts widget on my iPhone and have either an individual floor cleaned or all three at once. One could argue that it’s not very hard to open the ECOVACS app and tap start, but this takes a whole lot less taps and is a feature that is only available in relatively few robot vacuums out there.

Price

Heads up, these aren’t cheap. The base model T30S retails for $999.99 while the Combo unit steps up to $1,199.99, and the top-tier Complete edition with floor attachment clocks in at $1,399.99. If you’re thinking I spent $2,000 to add two more of these to my home, you’re wrong. The only reason I pulled the trigger is because they are currently $300-$400 off depending on which model you choose.
