We all know how difficult it can be to reliably tackle last-minute Christmas shopping, so here at gadgetnewsonline we are kicking off our first list of recommended gifts roughly one month in advance. Instead of going after big-ticket items, this selection is focused on affordable items that folks can benefit from each and every day. If this type of product is right up your alley, you should swing by our new Steals page and subscribe to our daily newsletter. In many regards, you can think of Steals as already-affordable everyday gear that’s now discounted even further. But enough about Steals, let’s dive in to our gift guide of everyday essentials priced from $7.

Rechargeable Hand Warmers

For many of us, cold weather has settled in and is here to stay over the next few months or so. This time of year I can be warm and cozy at home, but somehow my hands are ice cold. This past winter I set out to solve this problem and began my search for rechargeable hand warmers. I landed on these, and have used them a countless number of times over the last year.

One of the things I was most impressed by was how quickly they warm up. There are three heat levels, and I tend to pick the medium setting. I can turn them on and leave them running for several hours before the battery runs out. This has been perfect as I will spend 10-15 minutes typing and then will pick these up for a minute or two and quickly be warmed right back up. I also love that these come with an included charging dock that’s powered via USB-C. Score these now for as low as $20 right now.

Linkind Matter Smart Bulbs

Avid readers at gadgetnewsonline may be sick of hearing how much I love Linkind’s Matter smart light bulbs. While I have certainly mentioned them time and time again, it’s truly because they offer a lot of value for the money. Since these are compatible with Matter, they will work with all of the major smart home ecosystems ranging from Apple to Google, Alexa to SmartThings, and more.

These are RGB light bulbs too, allowing you to pick from various levels of cool or warm white color temperatures, or go wild with your favorite color. They’re easy to set up, and with four of them priced at under $20 (by way of Prime member exclusive discount and on-page coupon), you’re looking at just under $5 per bulb here. Given how flexible they are with all the major smart home ecosystems, there’s really no reason why these won’t make for a great Christmas gift.

Desk Pad

As with most things, once you’ve got something you like, it’s nice to keep it protected. That’s why I recommend a desk pad for most office setups. I’ve leaned on Aothia for years now, but I went with a new brand during my most recent purchase because I wanted something larger that would cover my entire desk.

So if nothing from Aothia seems to be big enough, check out this 47.2- by 23.6-inch desk pad at $27. I went with a simple white colorway, but there are a bunch of different colors to pick from. So if you’re looking for a gift, it should be easy to find a color that will work well in the space it’s going to wind up being in.

Self-Adhesive Neodymium Magnets

While not everyone will be as much of a perfectionist as I am, I think we can all agree that it looks nice when all of your gear is laid out in an orderly fashion. Sure, you can set it up nicely once or twice, but after it gets bumped over and over again, it’s unlikely you’re going to want to keep straightening things out.

That’s where these self-adhesive magnets come to the rescue. It’s a cincy to peel and stick these to a piece of gear, and then to a surface, and boom, everything always snaps right back into place with no effort from you. For $10, you get 25 pairs of these, and I have purchased them several times over because I keep finding more and more use cases for them.

MagSafe Wall Mount

Even if you aren’t an iPhone user, chances are high that there are cases for your smartphone that add MagSafe to your device. I absolutely love that it’s built in to all modern iPhones. MagSafe is used to charge my iPhone, carry my wallet, get my phone on the dashboard, and now, magnetically attached to the side of my nightstand.

I use this peel-and-stick MagSafe wall mount every night so I can lay on my side and catch up on my favorite YouTube channels. One of these can be had for just north of $7, and I highly recommend them. If you want to buy one for yourself and one as a gift, two can be purchased for $13.

meross Garage Door Remote

One of the most reliable and handy smart home accessories I have is meross’ garage door remote. It allows me to open, close, and check the status of my garage door using Apple Home, Google Assistant, Alexa, or the meross app. Installation didn’t take me very long, and I love being able to control my garage door from the palm of my hand.

The price point isn’t too bad either, with an on-page coupon taking the price down to $40 right now. This makes for a great gift for a family member or even yourself. It could pair nicely with the Linkind bulbs above too, if you want to help someone get started with their smart home.

Baseus Power Bank

With the holidays closing in, many folks will find themselves spending one or several nights away from home. While I used to take a charging station with me, now I lean on this power bank from Baseus. Just about every device I own now can be replenished with USB-C now, and the built-in retractable Type-C cable makes it a cinch to top all of my gear off.

It has a 20,000mAh capacity and can charge devices at up to 65W speeds. This means that I can fully tap into my iPhone 16 Pro’s 45W charging speeds. I have done it, and let me tell you it’s great. So if you’ve got a friend or family member visiting over the holidays, this could be a great gift that will make them feel comfortable while staying with you. It usually costs $70, but a 30% off coupon takes the price down to $49.
