Belkin goes 3-in-1 with its new Apple MagSafe Duo-style travel charger

Back in September at IFA, Belkin unveiled its Apple MagSafe Duo-style foldable travel charger, and it has just recently unleashed a new 3-in-1 model. The Apple-inspired model is essentially a small square fold-up device that unfurls to reveal a MagSafe pad on one side and a Qi pad for AirPods and the like on the other. The new Magnetic Wireless Charging Travel Pad treatment is very much the same as the two-way model, but with a third charging pad that features a pop-out Apple Watch charger as well. Belkin accommodates an Apple Watch with new MagSafe Duo-style charger

The new BoostCharge Pro 3-in-1 Magnetic Wireless Charging Travel Pad is very much what it sounds like. The compact square unit features a pair of main hinge points, allowing it to unfold into a three-way charger sporting a 15W Qi2 MagSafe pad for iPhone, a secondary 5W Qi pad for AirPods and other buds cases (or a second handset perhaps), and a third pad that houses a pop-out Apple Watch charger.

You can have the iPhone pad up in a sort of tent-style shape so you get a heads-up look a your phone in StandBy mode while the Apple charger rests just behind that and the AirPods pad lays flat down to support it all. 

Beyond the additional Apple Watch charger, where this 3-in-1 model differs from the MagSafe Duo-style variant is in the finish. The 2-in-1 setup features what I would consider to be a more luxurious and premium fabric wrapped finish. And, judging by the price, Belkin also seems to think so too. 

The 2-in-1 Magnetic Charging Travel Pad carries a $119.99 list price on Amazon, and for $10 more you can score the 3-in-1 edition we are featuring here today. You’d think the 2-in-1 would be a significantly more affordable solution, considering there’s less to it and no built-in Apple Watch charger, but it would seem the fabric-wrapped finish goes a long way here. 

The 2-in-1 model also comes in at $20 more than the comparable Twelve South Butterfly SE 2-in-1, but for something similar that will save you even more, consider Anker’s take on the fold out travel charger. It too was unveiled at IFA, delivering essentially the same pecs and form-factor, label in a more rounded shape, and you can score it for under $77 shipped right now.
