SANDMARC debuts the first leather iPhone 16 case with a sapphire Camera Control button
Before today, the only iPhone 16 cases out there with a proper Camera Control button cover we have come across were either made of silicone or a plastic treatment of some kind. But SANDMARC’s new Pro Leather Case for iPhone 16 changes all of that starting now.
We have been raving about the brand’s leather cases for a couple years now – they are easily among the best out there. The minimalist version takes on just that, a more basic and simple leather treatment, but its Pro edition takes things up a notch to stand out from just about every other leather case out there, and now even more so with a proper Camera Control button.
Alongside the soft microfiber inner lining, full-grain leather covering, unique metal camera array protection (also used to connect its lens attachments), and the gorgeous machined metal buttons, the brand has now implemented what, as far as we know, is the world’s first Camera Control button on a leather iPhone 16 case.
The brand tells us it is using a sapphire crystal conductive layer, the very same as Apple’s first-party cases, on its next-gen Pro Leather iPhone 16 cases.
By my count, there was only three lineups that have had access to this tech – Apple, Beats, and that one clear plastic OtterBox case, and by the looks of it, the SANDMARC approach here is indeed identical, just with a gorgeous leather treatment in tow. It, of course, supports the full suite of multi-gesture action Apple’s new Camera Control button affords – pressure sensitive taps, slide action, and the light double tap.
The new SANDMARC Pro Leather iPhone 16 Case with Camera Control is available for iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max in black, brown, navy, and a light sandy beige color at $49.99.
