We have yet to track any notable straight cash deals on the new Google Pixel 9 smartphones since release last month beyond the pre-order offers, but it is almost Prime Day again and Amazon just dropped the 256GB model down to $849.99 shipped. Regularly $899, the unlocked Google Pixel 9 with the upgraded 256GB of storage has now dropped to a new Amazon all-time low. We did see some notable gift card offers ahead of release at Amazon, but this is a new all-time low there in terms of straight up cash deals. The Pixel 9 devices are still up at full price via Best Buy for comparison.

While Google did just host its first Birthday sale here in the US recently, the new Pixel 9 series handsets only received elevated trade-in offers as opposed to discounts. That’s certainly notable if you have great to trade in, but if not, the early Amazon fall Prime Day offer is your best bet.

After our initial hands-on review of the Google Pixel 9 our overall take away was that it’s “almost impossible to hate.”

Back in August Pixel 9 received Adaptive Touch to improve screen sensitivity while wet to join the 24-hour battery life (up to 100 hours with Extreme Battery Saver), 6.3 Actually Display, 50MP main, new 48MP ultrawide camera “for stunning Macro Focus,” and 12 GB of RAM, all running on the new Google Tensor G4.

All of that sits alongside a bevy of new AI features centered around Gemini – “your built-in AI assistant; instead of typing, use Gemini Live; it follows along even if you change the topic or switch the question; and Pixel Screenshots helps you save things you’ll want to remember later.”

Google Pixel 9 features:

  • Google Pixel 9 with Gemini gets the best of Google AI first, so you can take amazing photos, make edits like magic, and get things done even easier
  • Unlocked Android phone gives you the flexibility to change carriers and choose your own data plan[1]; it works with Google Fi, Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, and other major carriers
  • The award-winning Pixel Camera includes a 50 MP main sensor for incredible image and video quality, and a new 48 MP ultrawide camera for stunning Macro Focus
  • Make your photos better than you can imagine with Google AI; take a picture and be in it too with Add Me[2]; Best Take helps everyone look their best; and with Magic Editor, you can reframe photos, reimagine the scenery, and more[2]
