Here we go! New Super Mario Galaxy Movie Nintendo Direct goes live this morning

Here we go! Nintendo is set to host a Sunday edition Direct presentation this morning for the upcoming Super Mario Galaxy Movie and it’s set to go live very soon.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Direct

Earlier this week Nintendo announced an official The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Direct on is Nintendo Today! app and social channels. This will be the movie’s second and potentially last full-on Direct presentation ahead of it hitting the silver screen this spring. As of right now, unless something changes in today’s show, the movie releases April 1, 2026 in theaters only.

It was officially revealed after months of rumors as part of Mario’s 40th birthday last year just before the world premiere trailer landed during the film’s first Direct back in mid November 2025.

One can only assume that we will get another trailer for the film today along some face time with the cast. Because most of the major players are reprising their roles from the first film, it would seem that a proper introduction and more details on Bowser Jr. could be on the slate, and perhaps (hopefully) an introduction to Yoshi and more details on the story. As per usual with the Mario movie Direct livestreams, “no game information will be included in this presentation.”
