Nintendo officially announces Super Mario Galaxy Movie Direct livestream

Nintendo officially revealed The Super Mario Galaxy Movie as part of the 40th anniversary Mario Bros. celebration last year. After that, it served up the world premiere trailer, and it has now announced an official Super Mario Galaxy Movie Nintendo Direct!

Super Mario Galaxy Movie Nintendo Direct

I went from incredibly skeptical to joyously impressed on the first proper animated Mario movie, and my hype for this spring’s silver screen debut for the sequel is building fast now.

All of the lead role actors from the first film are making a return again for Galaxy – Chris Pratt as Mario, Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Jack Black as Bowser – but after getting a first look at the Mushroom Kingdom’s next adventure we know Bowser Jr. will play a major role in the story this time around. It is also confirmed the iconic Yoshi will also be making more than just an appearance this time around.

And it won’t be long before we get another good look at it ahead of this spring’s launch. Nintendo has now taken to the official Nintendo Today! app to announce that it will be hosting a Super Mario Galaxy Movie  Nintendo Direct on, oddly enough, Sunday, January 25, 2026 at 6 a.m. PT/9 a.m PT

We will be here to watch along with you…Wahoo!

Join us on Sunday, Jan 25, at 6am PT for the #NintendoDirect featuring an exclusive look at The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. Please note that no game information will be included in this presentation.
