As part of its ongoing Cyber Monday sale event, Amazon is offering Samsung’s officially licensed Switch 2-compatible 256GB Express microSD card for $39 shipped. This model originally launched alongside the Switch 2 at $59, and it hadn’t seen a single discount until Cyber Monday sales started to go live. It’s now seeing its first discount at $20 off, just in time for the holidays. This is the lowest price we’ve tracked for this 256GB Express card, and it joins a bunch of other Express microSD cards that are also discounted for Cyber Monday, as highlighted below.
There are plenty of Express microSD cards out there that are compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2, though this officially licensed model debuted as one of the first ones alongside the handheld itself. This one, just like many other options out there from other manufacturers, can hit transfer speeds of up to 800MB/s via a PCIe Gen 3.0 x1, NVMe 1.3 interface to deliver significantly faster than standard UHS-I microSD cards. This one, however, is only available in 256GB capacity, so you might want to check out some other discounted alternatives highlighted below.

- Nintendo Switch 2 uses a new standard of expandable memory card called microSD Express (sold separately). This kind of memory card is needed for faster access speeds and to ensure games will run smoothly.
- Please note: Nintendo Switch 2 is only compatible with microSD Express cards. If the microSD cards you have used for Nintendo Switch do not support microSD Express standards, you cannot use them with Nintendo Switch 2.
