The $279 starting price here is solid. While we have seen these machines starting at $299 on a regular basis for months, today’s deal marks the return of Amazon’s summer and fall Prime Day deals while making for a notable chance to pick one up ahead of the holidays. If you’re looking to land one for the kids, grandparents, or just as a basic couch browser for yourself, now’s the time to pull the trigger – we could see it go for less next week, but all signs and historical pricing data suggest that, even if it does fall lower, it won’t be by much.
Apple’s iPad 11, or as it’s officially known, the iPad (A16), debuted earlier this year in the spring to replace the aging iPad 10 with another affordable Apple tablet solution. It is clearly not the most powerful option in the lineup, but with a starting price at $349 and, more importantly, the now live Black Friday price from $279, it can be a wonderful option for casual users, the kids, and, for that matter, me.
I don’t really get into any heavy computing or demanding creative projects on an iPad personally, and when it comes to just throwing up some YouTube videos, browsing the web, or browsing social media and what not, the more affordable iPad models are just fine, and this is the least expensive of them all. While the A16 model isn’t compatible with Apple Intelligence, I’m not really either, and it can handle just about everything else I want an iPad to do for under $280 right now.
