Amazon just dropped the new M5 MacBook Pro to new lows again, 24GB/1TB M4 now $300 off

If you’re going to be picking up a new MacBook Pro this holiday season, and you’re not looking to spend M series Pro chip money, there’s really one question to ask: Do I go for the new M5 MacBook Pro deals, or save double the amount on the M4 MacBook Pro? Not an easy question to answer, but the price drops live right now might help you make your case.

As of right now, Amazon has just dropped the prices on both of the most affordable M5 MacBook Pro configurations it offers – these are new all-time lows at roughly $150 off:

Again, these are the lowest prices the most affordable new M5 MacBook Pro configs have been offered for anywhere online since release last month. But, while stock on discounted M4 machines have been unreliable as of late, Amazon just dropped an upgraded M4 MacBook Pro back to its all-time low at $300 off:

For me, the differences in the actual user experience between the M4 and M5 chip are hardly noticeable. That might not be the case for everyone, but in my case it’s really more about the RAM and storage options – the M4 chip with the same 10‑core CPU/GPU as the base M5 is more than powerful enough. And with this upgraded M4 model at $300 off, you’re landing a whole lot more RAM and storage for the price – it is $52 more than the 16GB M5, but the difference between 16GB of RAM and 24GB can be significant for smoothly running a truckload of open tabs in the browser, demanding sampler instruments in Logic Pro, and a whole lot more.

All of that said, if you’re the kind of user that doesn’t really get into particularly demanding tasks on your laptop, you might as well just score the M4 MaBook Air while it’s still down at all-time low early Black Friday pricing.
